<p>Following a terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, tensions between India and Pakistan have been escalating. Meanwhile, security forces have thwarted a major terrorist plot. Amidst PM Modi&#39;s meeting with Air Force chief, blackout rehearsal in Firozpur sparks speculation of impending war.


<p>Following the Pahalgam terror attack, the Indian government announced its decision to revoke the Indus Waters Treaty as a measure to teach Pakistan a lesson. This decision is now being implemented. The government has begun withholding excess water from the Chenab River via the Baglihar Dam and from the Sutlej River via the Harike Barrage. Similar action is being prepared for the Kishanganga Dam on the Jhelum River. It is believed that this Indian move will adversely affect Pakistan&#8217;s agricultural production and electricity generation capacity.</p>

<p>Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been holding separate meetings with senior military officials for the past few days. In this series, Air Chief Marshal A.P. Singh met with Modi on Sunday. This meeting took place a day after a meeting between Modi and Navy Chief Admiral Dinesh K. Tripathi. Sources say the meeting discussed the situation following the Pulwama attack.</p>

<p>External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar has taken a dig at European countries trying to influence India&#8217;s stance on geopolitical issues. He stated that India seeks partners, not preachers. During a conversation with former Icelandic President Ólafur Ragnar Grímsson and Samir Saran, the head of the Observer Research Foundation, at the Arctic Circle India Forum, when Jaishankar was asked about India&#8217;s expectations from Europe, he said, &#8220;We don&#8217;t particularly look for preachers who preach things abroad that they don&#8217;t practice at home. I think a part of Europe is still grappling with this problem.&#8221;</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Imran-Bilawal&#8217;s X Accounts Banned</h2>



<p>New Delhi. The Indian government has banned the X accounts of Pakistan&#8217;s Information and Broadcasting Minister Attaullah Tarar, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) chairman Bilawal Bhutto , and former Prime Minister Imran Khan. Tarar had claimed that India could launch a military attack on Pakistan within 24 to 36 hours. India has also blocked the Instagram accounts of several Pakistani artists, including singer Abida Parveen , Fawad Khan , Atif Aslam, and Mawra Hocane .</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Modi Will Respond in the Same Language Those Who Want It: Rajnath</h2>



<p>Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will respond to the enemy in the same language that the people of the country want. Under PM Modi&#8217;s leadership, things will happen as the people want. Speaking at a Sanskriti Jagran programme in Delhi, Rajnath said that as a defence minister, it is his responsibility to give a befitting reply to those who cast an evil eye on the country, in collaboration with his army, and ensure the security of the country&#8217;s borders.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Sutlej Water Also Withheld</h2>



<p>Pakistan has no right to the waters of the Sutlej River, but water flows into Pakistan via the Husainiwala Headworks from the Harike Barrage. A Punjab Irrigation Department official on the spot said that since the inflow of water in the Sutlej is decreasing, the water going to Pakistan from Harike has been completely stopped. Water is currently being stored at the barrage.<br>The Baglihar Dam in Ramban, Jammu, and the Kishanganga Dam in North Kashmir, on the western rivers (Jhelum and Chenab) allocated to Pakistan, give India a superior position over Pakistan.</p>



<p>The government generates electricity through dams. Both dams provide India with the capacity to withhold and release water in these rivers. The Baglihar Dam has been a long-standing point of contention between India and Pakistan. Pakistan also objects to the impact of the Kishanganga Dam on the Neelam, a tributary of the Jhelum. These rivers flowing from India to Pakistan are considered the lifeline of both countries. People living in their plains are entirely dependent on these rivers for agriculture. India, understanding this, was providing a large amount of water to Pakistan. After the Pulwama attack, India&#8217;s patience and the supply to Pakistan have been disrupted.</p>


<p>A half-hour blackout rehearsal was conducted in Ferozepur Cantonment on Sunday night at 9 pm due to fears of a war with Pakistan.</p>

<p><strong>Gwalior News:</strong> Madhya Pradesh&#8217;s Minister of State for Public Health and Medical Education, Narendra Shivaji Patel, visited Quality Restaurant in Gwalior on Sunday night. Reports suggest he became angry when he couldn&#8217;t find a table due to overcrowding. His supporters, who were with him, also created a commotion. After the hotel staff realised he was a minister, they apologised, but Patel remained furious. He called the food safety team to collect samples of the food. The hotel owner has also accused Patel&#8217;s supporters of assault.</p>



<p>The Minister of State has been in Gwalior for two days. On Sunday, he inspected several health centres in the district and attended a wedding ceremony at the residence of the Speaker of the Assembly. In the evening, he went out for dinner with his supporters to Quality Restaurant in Patel Nagar near the SP office. Due to it being a holiday, the restaurant was crowded, and all tables were occupied. Two tables were booked under different names for the Minister of State. The fact that one table was booked in the name of Food Inspector Lokendra displeased the Minister of State, leading his supporters to create a disturbance. Eventually, the hotel owner was forced to apologise over the phone, and the entire staff also apologised to the Minister.</p>

<p>Praveen Agarwal from the Chamber of Commerce also arrived in support of the hotel owner, Sanjay Arora. According to Arora, the Minister&#8217;s supporters assaulted his staff. The Minister&#8217;s guard allegedly pushed and shoved them. The owner&#8217;s brother, Kamal Arora, was surrounded by supporters, taken away in a police vehicle, but released when other businessmen intervened.</p>

<p>Boat capsizing incidents involving numerous people are unfortunately recurring events across various locations. Another such incident has recently occurred in China. On Sunday, four boats carrying tourists capsized in Qianxi City, Guizhou Province, China. The accident took place on the Liuguang River. Reports suggest that sudden, strong gusts of wind caused the boats to overturn. A total of 84 tourists were aboard the four boats, all of whom fell into the water.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Shubman Gill Could Become the New Test Vice-Captain</h2>



<p>According to media reports, young batsman Shubman Gill could be given a significant responsibility on the England tour. The BCCI, considering him a future captain, might appoint him as vice-captain in place of Jasprit Bumrah. <p><strong>Sawai Madhopur.</strong> A pregnant woman travelling from Gangapur City to Sawai Madhopur on a train delivered a baby onboard. The assistance provided by railway staff and fellow passengers during her labour is commendable. Both mother and child are reported to be safe.</p>



<p>The incident occurred in Sawai Madhopur district. A woman, along with her husband and three children, boarded the Nanda Devi Express in an AC coach from Gangapur City railway station. The family was reportedly travelling to Sawai Madhopur, but the woman went into labour before reaching the station.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Railway Medical Team Provides Assistance</h2>



<p>With the help of fellow passengers, the woman was quickly taken to the train&#8217;s toilet, where she safely delivered her baby. Her three children and husband remained with her throughout the ordeal. Upon arrival at Sawai Madhopur, the GRP (Government Railway Police) and the railway medical team immediately attended to them.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Admitted to the Hospital </h2>



<p>The railway medical team transported the mother and newborn to a hospital via ambulance, where they are receiving treatment. The incident took place in AC coach B-8 of the Nanda Devi Express train. According to reports, the mother is the wife of Kanhaiya, a resident of Hamir Puliya Kacchi Basti.</p>
