<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Heatwave in Rajasthan and Haryana</h2>



<p>The IMD says that a heatwave is likely in some districts of Rajasthan and Haryana. Intense heat is currently being experienced in Rajasthan. On Monday, the mercury crossed 45 degrees Celsius in many districts of the state, including Bikaner and Churu. However, in Udaipur, rain accompanied by strong winds caused a slight drop in temperature.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">5 Deaths Due to Lightning Strikes in Maharashtra and Jharkhand</h2>



<p>Misfortune from the sky is being witnessed in many states. Two people died in Maharashtra and five in Jharkhand due to lightning strikes. According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of lightning strikes in the coming days in some states, including Maharashtra, Bihar, Jharkhand, and Karnataka.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Possibility of Heavy Rainfall in These States</h2>



<p>According to the Meteorological Department, heavy rain is likely in some states. A red alert has been issued for heavy rain in the southern state of Karnataka. Along with this, stormy winds can also blow in Coastal Karnataka. Due to the heavy rain that has been continuing in Karnataka for the past two days, incidents of waterlogging have been reported in many cities. Meanwhile, heavy rain is possible in Jharkhand, Bihar and Andhra Pradesh. Waterlogging was seen in parts of Vijayawada in Andhra Pradesh after the rain. Traffic was also affected due to water accumulation on the roads.</p>

<p><strong>Covid-19 Death in Delhi:</strong> India is experiencing a resurgence of COVID-19 cases. Many major cities and states are reporting a rise in new infections, and the death toll is also causing concern. On Saturday, the first COVID-19 death in the capital, Delhi, was confirmed. A 60-year-old woman, already suffering from serious pre-existing illnesses, succumbed to the virus. This incident has created an atmosphere of fear and caution among the public.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">COVID-19 Situation in Delhi:</h2>



<p>According to the Union Health Ministry&#8217;s COVID-19 dashboard, one COVID-19 death was reported in Delhi in the last 24 hours. This is the second COVID-19 death in the capital this year. The deceased woman had intestinal problems following abdominal surgery and tested positive for COVID-19. According to the dashboard, a total of 294 new COVID cases were registered in Delhi until May 30th, with 77 new cases reported on Friday alone.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Rise in COVID Cases Across the Country</h2>



<p>Along with Delhi, a surge in COVID cases is being observed in several other parts of the country. More cases are emerging from Kerala, Maharashtra, Gujarat, and Tamil Nadu in particular. However, in most cases, the symptoms are mild, and the risk of serious illness or death is low.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Spread of New Omicron Variants</h2>



<p>The main reason for this increase in COVID cases globally is the emergence of new variants of the Omicron variant of the coronavirus. Prominent among these are LF.7 and NB1.8, branches of the JN.1 variant. JN.1, also known as the &#8216;Pirola&#8217; strain, is derived from the BA.2.86 variant and can bypass existing body immunity. Although the symptoms of this new variant have so far been similar to Omicron, it spreads more rapidly.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Active Cases and Death Toll</h2>



<p>According to the Union Health Ministry, Kerala currently has the highest number of active cases in the country, with 1147. This is followed by Maharashtra with 424, and active cases are also increasing in Delhi. Seven deaths due to COVID-19 have been reported in India in the last 24 hours, including in Delhi, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu.</p>

<p><strong>Artificial Intelligence (AI)</strong> is posing a job threat to women that is three times higher than that faced by men. A recent report by the International Labour Organization (ILO) of the United Nations and the National Research Institute of Digital Affairs of the Ministry of Digital Affairs, Poland, found that in high-income countries, AI could replace approximately 10 percent of female-dominated positions, while the threat to men&#8217;s positions stands at 3.5 percent.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">AI: Higher Threat in High-Income Countries</h2>



<p>The report states that the most significant imbalance in AI exposure exists in high-income countries. In these nations, 41 percent of high-paying jobs predominantly held by women could be replaced due to AI, compared to 28 percent of men&#8217;s jobs. The report indicates that in Europe and Central Asia, 39 percent of women&#8217;s jobs could be affected, while the figure for men is 26 percent. The ILO has found that globally, one in four employees works in a job where their tasks will be affected by AI.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Study Methodology</h2>



<p>This study involved surveying 1,640 individuals in Poland working across various sectors. A small group of international experts analysed the results. Researchers then developed an AI model to determine the likelihood of automation across 2,500 occupations and over 29,000 tasks.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Higher Threat to Women: The Reason</h2>



<p>The study found that clerical occupations such as data entry clerks, typists, word processing operators, accountants, and bookkeeping clerks are most likely to be replaced by AI. These jobs are predominantly held by women. This is because these roles involve repetitive tasks with less novelty. Taking meeting notes or scheduling appointments are also tasks impacted by AI.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Complete Replacement by Artificial Intelligence Remains ‘Limited’</h2>



<p>Other occupations experiencing widespread AI use include web and media developers, database specialists, and finance and software-related jobs. The study clarifies that these job displacement figures represent potential risks, not actual job losses. The report further states that complete replacement by AI remains limited. These tasks still require human oversight. The report suggests that since most occupations involve tasks requiring human input, a change in the nature of jobs is more likely than complete job elimination.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Call for Governments to Develop Strategies</h2>



<p>The report calls upon governments, employers, and workers&#8217; organisations to develop inclusive strategies that can help protect job quality and productivity in vulnerable sectors.</p>

<p>Good News: Currently, Gwalior&#8217;s world-class airport only operates flights to four destinations, while the need is far greater. This is evident from the fact that flights from Gwalior to Delhi and Mumbai are almost 90% full daily. Students, businessmen, and entrepreneurs in the city feel a significant need for more flight options, as they need to complete their work efficiently and save time.</p>



<p>According to experts, if Gwalior gets three new flight connections to Kolkata, Indore, and Bengaluru, it would be possible to reach Malaysia, Singapore, Bangkok, and Sri Lanka within 7-8 hours via connecting flights from these cities. Gwalior airport is designed not just for 72-seater aircraft but for 180-seater flights.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Tourist Numbers to Increase</strong></h2>



<p>Tourists from South and East Indian states wish to visit Gwalior. However, most of these tourists land in Delhi and then travel to Jaipur via Agra. If flights from Gwalior commence, tourists will automatically start visiting Agra, Gwalior, and Jaipur first.</p>



<p>IITTM Assistant Professor Chandrashekhar Baruah stated that an increase in the number of flights from Gwalior will undoubtedly lead to a rise in tourist numbers. Many tourists are unable to reach Gwalior due to the lack of sufficient flight options.</p>



<p>Deepak Agrawal, the honorary secretary of the MP Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said that businessmen and entrepreneurs need to complete their work quickly. If adequate flight connections to all parts of the country are available, it will be more convenient for them.</p>

<p><strong>Baran</strong>: Over three crore children and young people worldwide are consuming tobacco in some form. The use of newer forms like e-cigarettes and hookahs is increasingly prevalent among the youth. These contain harmful chemicals that directly damage the lungs. Long-term use of e-cigarettes increases the likelihood of lung diseases and cancer.</p>



<p>World No Tobacco Day is observed on 31 May. This year&#8217;s (2025) theme is &#8220;Bright Products. Dark Intentions. Exposing the appeal&#8221;. This highlights the hidden dangers of tobacco products. They are designed to appear attractive through appealing flavours and packaging. The aim of this theme is to expose how such marketing strategies are designed to lure consumers, especially young people, while concealing the serious health consequences associated with their use. Cigarette smoking is considered a means of temporarily reducing stress and anxiety; this is also a reason why young people are attracted to it.</p>



<p>In Baran too, a large number of young people can be seen smoking at stalls. While there is a ban on selling tobacco around educational institutions, the sale continues unabated. The consumption of gutka and tobacco is deteriorating people&#8217;s health. This poses a threat not only to health but also to the environment. Tobacco products contain about 61 carcinogens. Many people have fallen prey to cancer because of this. Even then, people continue to consume it, endangering their health. Young people and women, in particular, are also consuming it. These products can be seen being sold around school gates, flouting the rules.</p>



<p><strong>Why does addiction occur?</strong></p>



<p>Addiction occurs due to a substance called nicotine in tobacco. It goes to the brain and temporarily creates a feeling of pleasure. When the level of nicotine in the blood decreases, the craving returns, and the person consumes tobacco again, which turns into addiction. India is the second-largest consumer and producer of tobacco. Globally, tobacco use causes the death of about 8 million people every year. According to the World Health Organisation, there are 1 million people who do not smoke themselves but are constantly exposed to its smoke.</p>



<p>In India, more than 26 crore people consume tobacco, with 10 lakh deaths annually attributed to tobacco consumption. Flavoured hookahs and e-cigarettes are becoming increasingly popular among the younger generation. E-cigarettes or other vaping devices are also harmful to health. They use nicotine and other flavouring chemicals; inhaling them as vapour can be fatal. Nicotine is given as medicine to help people get rid of cravings.</p>

Chief Medical and Health Officer Dr. Sanjeev Saxena informed that a Tobacco-Free Anganwadi Centre campaign will be run during the World No Tobacco Day fortnight from 31 May to 14 June. Under this, signage related to tobacco prohibition will be displayed at Anganwadi centres. Also, compliance with the rules prohibiting the sale of tobacco products within 100 yards of Anganwadi centres will be ensured.</p>

Unnao Road Crash Kills Three of Same Family


<p>A tragic accident occurred in Unnao when a car carrying a family from Lucknow, returning after collecting dental medication, was struck by a speeding, uncontrolled tanker. The impact was so severe that the car plunged into a ditch. The wife and granddaughter died at the scene, while the husband (driving the car) and another passenger sustained serious injuries and were rushed to the Lucknow Trauma Centre. The husband succumbed to his injuries during treatment. One injured person is still undergoing treatment. The incident took place in the Hasanaganj police station area.</p>



<p>In the road accident in Unnao, Uttar Pradesh, Sukhdev Prabhakar, his wife Anju Bala, and granddaughter Manya, residents of Manas Nagar, Krishna Nagar, Lucknow, were travelling with Ramchela, a resident of Nevra Ghat, Auras. Sukhdev was returning home after collecting dental medication for his wife, Anju Bala. On the Mohan Bangarmau road in the Hasanaganj police station area, near Akbarpur village, their car was hit head-on by a tanker carrying tar. The collision was so forceful that the car fell into a ditch, resulting in the immediate deaths of Anju and Manya.</p>



<p>The police, upon receiving information, arrived at the scene and admitted the injured to the local Community Health Centre. From there, Sukhdev and Ramshilla were referred to the Lucknow Trauma Centre, where Sukhdev died during treatment. The police have taken possession of the bodies and sent them for post-mortem. The police informed the family members about the incident. The news of the accident caused chaos at home, leaving everyone distraught. The family is in shock after the simultaneous deaths of three family members.</p>


<p>Three members of the same family died in a tragic road accident in Unnao. A husband, wife, and their granddaughter perished in the accident. One other family member is undergoing treatment at a trauma centre in Lucknow. </p>

Monsoon Arrival in MP: High Winds and Heavy Rain Expected


<p><strong>MP Weather:</strong> Following the earlier-than-expected arrival of the monsoon in Kerala, it is anticipated that it may reach Madhya Pradesh in the second week of June. The monsoon (Monsoon 2025) has currently reached Chhattisgarh. If conditions remain favourable, the monsoon could enter the state within 10-12 days via Balaghat and Dindori districts in the Jabalpur division. Above-normal rainfall is expected in the state this year. Currently, pre-monsoon activities are active in Jabalpur and other districts of the division, leading to cloudy conditions, rain, and thunderstorms.</p>



<p>On Thursday, people in Jabalpur experienced intense heat and humidity from morning. In the afternoon, a thunderstorm with winds reaching 30-40 km/h swept through the area. Light showers occurred in some places, resulting in pleasant weather. Due to the influence of cyclonic circulation and an active trough, thunderstorms with gusty winds and rain are predicted for Jabalpur and surrounding districts on Friday.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Monsoon Equation</h2>



<p>Meteorologists say a depression is forming in the Bay of Bengal. This will accelerate the monsoon (Monsoon 2025), potentially bringing it to the state in the first week of June itself. It is likely to advance through Odisha, Jharkhand, and Bihar over two to three days. If the system remains active, the monsoon could enter the state in the first week. It is expected that the monsoon will enter the state via the Jabalpur division by 10-12 June.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Temperature three degrees below normal</strong></h2>



<p>Cloudy conditions prevailed throughout Thursday. The maximum temperature recorded was 38.6°C in the afternoon due to strong winds, which was three degrees below normal. The minimum temperature at night was 24.5°C, also three degrees below normal.</p>

Homebuyers can access complete information by visiting the RERA portal&#8217;s homepage and entering the relevant project or promoter&#8217;s name or registration number in the &#8216;Registered Projects&#8217; section.</p>

RERA has also advised consumers to pay for the unit only into the project&#8217;s collection account and to invest only after thoroughly investigating every aspect. <p>मैं एक छोटा-सा रेलवे स्टेशन हूं कोहदड़। कभी जिंदगी की रफ्तार से भरा हुआ, आज खामोशी की चादर ओढ़े खड़ा हूं। 6 साल हो गए, एक भी ट्रेन नहीं रुकी मेरे पास। ना कोई सीटी, ना कदमों की आहट, ना बच्चों की हंसी, और ना ही वो बुजुर्ग जो रोज मेरे बेंच पर बैठकर चाय पीते थे।</p>
<p>एक वक्त था जब सूरज की पहली किरण के साथ मैं जाग उठता था। गाड़ी नंबर 51158, 51188, 51187 और 51157 की सीटी बजते ही मेरी छाती में हलचल होती थी। जैसे कोई मां अपने बच्चों को स्कूल भेजती है। गांव के किसान अपनी फसलें ले जाते, छात्र शहरों की ओर पढ़ने निकलते, और जवान नौकरी की तलाश में सफर करते। मेरे प्लेटफॉर्म पर बिछी पटरी से सिर्फ रेलगाड़ी नहीं, गांव के सपने गुजरते थे।</p>
