
<p><strong>DA Hike:</strong> From today, 1 April, things are about to get better for government employees in Madhya Pradesh. They will now receive dearness allowance (DA) calculated according to the 7th Pay Commission. This proposal was approved in a meeting of the Mohan Cabinet in MP. Employees will see significant benefits from April onwards. Previously, DA was calculated based on the old system, but the switch to the 7th Pay Commission will result in increased salaries.</p>



<p>Since 2016, promotions for government employees had been frozen. After nine years, the Mohan government has lifted the ban, allowing promotions to resume. All departments have issued instructions accordingly.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Dearness Allowance According to the 7th Pay Commission</h2>



<p>Until now, Madhya Pradesh government employees received DA based on the 6th Pay Commission. However, from today, 1 April, they will receive DA calculated according to the 7th Pay Commission. This will lead to increased allowances covering expenses such as petrol, diesel, and house rent.</p>

<p><strong>Gold-Silver Rate:</strong> Fears of a global recession have intensified, driven by US tariffs and retaliatory measures from countries like China and the EU, targeted by Trump. This has raised concerns about a decline in industrial demand for base metals, including silver. On Friday, silver prices on MCX plummeted by ₹7200 per kilogram, closing at ₹87,270. This marks the single largest daily drop in silver prices. Globally, silver prices fell by 7.5%, settling at $29.5 per ounce. In India, silver price has decreased by over ₹12,000 per kilogram in just two days. On April 2nd, it closed at ₹99,753, while on March 28th, it reached an all-time high of ₹1,00,2040 on MCX.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Gold Also Slides</h2>



<p>On MCX, the price of 10 grams of gold also dropped by over ₹2000, settling at ₹87,950. This is the first time that the price of one kilogram of silver on MCX is lower than that of 10 grams of gold. In the global market, gold prices have fallen by over $180 per ounce in two days. Gold prices in the bullion markets also fell by ₹1000 to ₹1500. In Jaipur, 10 grams of 24-carat gold fell to ₹92,800, while silver dropped by ₹4500 to ₹96,000. Meanwhile, in Indore, silver prices decreased by ₹6,000 per kilogram.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Crude Oil Down 14%</h2>



<p>Driven by recession fears and OPEC&#8217;s announcement to increase production, crude oil prices fell by 7%, closing below $65 per barrel. In two days, crude oil prices have dropped by 14%, nearing 2021 lows when prices fell to $40 per barrel. The decline in crude oil and dollar prices strengthened the rupee by 22 paise against the dollar on Friday, closing at ₹85.25. The cheaper crude oil and stronger rupee are expected to benefit the Indian economy, which imports 80% of its crude oil.</p>

<p><strong>Rajasthan Crime:</strong> The Lawrence gang&#8217;s extortion racket, operating from Dubai, was orchestrated by Aditya Jain from Kuchaman City. Aditya, who changed his name to Tony in Dubai, inadvertently revealed his identity through a threatening call, alerting Rajasthan Police&#8217;s Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF). When the AGTF began their pursuit, Aditya attempted to flee Dubai, but a red corner notice led to his arrest at the Dubai airport. The AGTF team brought him back to India on Friday. ADGP Crime Dinesh M.N. stated that seven cases are registered against Aditya in Rajasthan, and police from Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, and other states will also interrogate him.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Rajasthan Police Locate Aditya</h2>



<p>Following Aditya&#8217;s identification, the AGTF launched an investigation to locate his whereabouts in Dubai. They contacted local residents with connections to Rajasthan. In January, a police team secretly travelled to Dubai. After locating his address, a red corner notice was issued against him in connection with a fraud case registered in Sardarshahar, Churu.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">What is &#8216;Dibba Calling&#8217;?</h2>



<p>&#8216;Dibba Calling&#8217; functions as the criminals&#8217; control room. Acting on instructions from Lawrence, Rohit Godara, and others, an individual uses the internet to make calls from two different phones. Both phones, with speakers on, are placed inside a special container. This prevents police from accessing call records. Previously, Amarjeet Bishnoi handled &#8216;Dibba Calling&#8217; for the gang.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Extortion Demands After Contact with Virendra</h2>



<p>Aditya Jain came into contact with Virendra Charan, an active member of the Lawrence gang, in Churu jail in 2018. Following this, he began demanding extortion money through internet calls. He also provided the gang with information about the families of potential targets and supplied weapons to gang members.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">CBI: Over 100 Criminals Brought Back to India</h2>



<p>The CBI has played a significant role in bringing criminals back to India from foreign countries. Through Interpol channels, they have brought back over 100 criminals. The CBI played a key role in the arrest of Aditya Jain. At the request of Rajasthan Police, the CBI issued a red notice through Interpol on February 18th.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Travel Business as a Front</h2>



<p>Aditya moved to Dubai in January last year. He started a travel business as a front and began handling &#8216;Dibba Calling&#8217; for the Lawrence gang. He avoided using his own voice during calls. However, his voice was identified in a threatening call to a businessman. Following this, police investigated his passport and confirmed his presence in Dubai.</p>

<p><strong>Manoj Kumar Last Rites:</strong> The last rites of Manoj Kumar, the ‘Bharat Kumar’ of Indian cinema, were performed on Saturday at the Pawan Hans crematorium with state honours. He was given a 21-gun salute. Numerous stars from the film industry attended the late actor&#8217;s funeral and bid him farewell with tearful eyes. Manoj Kumar had been admitted to Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Mumbai for the past few weeks. He had been unwell for a long time.</p>

<p><strong>Engineering College In Bihar:</strong> Great news for engineering students in Bihar! The Bihar government is set to launch M.Tech (PG) courses in approximately six engineering colleges across the state this year. According to media reports, the Department of Science, Technology and Technical Education has accelerated preparations for this initiative. Currently, M.Tech courses are offered in only 10 out of the state&#8217;s 38 government engineering colleges. A phased plan is in place to introduce PG courses in the remaining colleges.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Engineering: Preparations to improve the system</h2>



<p>The introduction of M.Tech courses will reduce the need for B.Tech graduates to seek higher education in other states. Currently, around 11,000 to 12,000 students enrol in the state&#8217;s engineering colleges each year, with approximately 80-85% completing their B.Tech degrees. According to experts, about 30% of these students pursue M.Tech studies outside Bihar. The department has instructed all engineering colleges to apply for AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education) accreditation for PG courses. Simultaneously, arrangements are being made for faculty appointments and necessary infrastructure.</p>

Further investigation identified the location as Suhani village, Bijnor. The video showed the elderly man, Dataram, being assaulted by his daughter-in-law. Following this discovery, police visited the village and conducted a thorough investigation.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Father Divided Four Bighas of Land Among Three Sons</h2>



<p>It was discovered that Dataram has three sons. Some time ago, he divided his property equally among his three sons. He distributed one bigha of land to each of his three sons from his total four bighas, retaining one bigha for himself. A dispute arose over this remaining one bigha of land. One son&#8217;s wife then beat Dataram with sticks. While this assault was taking place, the victim&#8217;s son filmed the incident. This event has become a subject of much discussion in the area. Police have stated that action is being taken.</p>

<p>The Jaipur Development Authority (JDA) will take action on April 9th to widen Sirsi Road in Jaipur (from the Jharkhand Mod intersection to 200 feet beyond the bypass bridge). Five teams have been formed by the JDA for this purpose. On Saturday, the JDA teams will arrive on-site and begin the demarcation process.</p>



<p>Previously, the JDA had already marked encroachments within a 2.5 km radius. This road, as per court orders, is proposed to be 160 feet wide. Following the JDA&#8217;s demarcation in November, some individuals removed their encroachments independently. JDA officials state that on November 21st, 2024, the High Court ruled that the road should be constructed according to the zonal plan, which designates it as 160 feet wide.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Five Teams Formed</h2>



<p>The JDA has constituted five teams for demarcation and enforcement. These teams include Deputy Commissioners, Executive Engineers, Enforcement Officers, Tehsildars, Assistant Town Planners, and Junior Engineers. Hemant Kumar, Deputy Commissioner of Zone Seven, and Ram Avtar Takhar, Deputy Controller-III of the Enforcement Branch, have been appointed as supervisors.</p>

<p>Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) vice-captain Venkatesh Iyer stated that aggression doesn&#8217;t mean hitting a six every ball, but rather demonstrating the right intent with every delivery, following their impressive 80-run victory over Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 on Thursday.</p>



<p>In the match against SRH, Iyer played a magnificent innings of 60 runs off just 29 balls, including 7 fours and 3 sixes. He played a crucial role in taking KKR to 200 runs at Eden Gardens on Thursday, mirroring a strong start similar to last season&#8217;s final.</p>



<p>When asked about KKR&#8217;s batting approach, Iyer explained, “It&#8217;s important to show aggression. But, while playing, it&#8217;s crucial to focus on your natural game. Iyer added that if their score is 50 for six wickets and they want to call themselves smart cricketers, understanding any situation and reacting accordingly is very important.”</p>



<p>The left-handed batsman clarified that KKR&#8217;s definition of aggression isn&#8217;t about mindlessly hitting boundaries every ball. He elaborated, “Aggression doesn&#8217;t mean playing maximum shots every ball. It&#8217;s about how you understand the situation and how you can bring the situation in your favour.”</p>



<p>Iyer credited his teammates, captain Ajinkya Rahane and young batsman Angkrish Raghuvanshi, for their excellent batting and for sharing crucial information during the time-out. Rahane scored 38 runs for KKR, while Raghuvanshi contributed a 50-run innings.</p>



<p>Iyer mentioned that during the time-out, the captain messaged that it wasn&#8217;t an easy pitch where one could easily hit. You have to take your time. Everyone&#8217;s eyes are on Iyer and Rinku Singh to accelerate the scoring rate in the death overs for KKR. Iyer proved this right against Hyderabad with his innings.</p>



<p>Iyer said, &#8220;When I was batting, I knew that Ramandeep Singh and Andre Russell were to follow. Even if I take a few balls, I know I can cover it to an extent. We have batsmen who can dismantle the strategies of the opposing team&#8217;s bowlers.&#8221;</p>

<p><strong>Stephen Fleming on MS Dhoni:</strong> Chennai Super Kings (CSK) suffered a six-wicket defeat against Rajasthan Royals in the 11th match of IPL 2025. <p>Meanwhile, a report released on OneCricket&#8217;s official Instagram account states that CSK coach Stephen Fleming said, &#8220;I spoke with MS last night, and we discussed his future role in CSK. We concluded that he will only remain in Chepauk for the remainder of the season.&#8221;</p>



<p>This means he will only play six more matches this season. Currently, Chennai Super Kings have 11 out of 14 league matches remaining, of which 6 will be played at the MA Chidambaram Stadium (Chepauk) in Chennai. No knockout matches will be played in Chepauk.</p>
