<p><strong>JIO/Airtel – Starlink Deal:</strong> Mukesh Ambani&#8217;s Jio Platforms Limited (JPL) and Elon Musk&#8217;s SpaceX have signed a landmark agreement to provide Starlink&#8217;s broadband internet service in India. This announcement comes just a day after Bharti Airtel announced a partnership with Starlink. </p>



<p>Under this agreement, satellite-based broadband services will now be available across the country, including rural and remote areas of India. This move will help connect inaccessible areas where providing traditional connectivity has been a challenge.</p>



<p>Jio, the world&#8217;s largest mobile operator, and Starlink, a leading operator of Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite constellations, will work together to transform India&#8217;s digital landscape through this partnership. </p>



<p>Starlink solutions will be available to Jio customers through Jio stores as well as online platforms. Jio stated in its release that this agreement with SpaceX will make reliable internet accessible to all enterprises, small and medium businesses, and communities across India. </p>



<p>Starlink&#8217;s technology will complement JioAirFiber and JioFiber services by expanding high-speed internet in a fast and affordable manner, even in the most challenging locations. Both companies will also explore other potential avenues of collaboration within India&#8217;s digital ecosystem.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Affordable and High-Speed Broadband</h2>



<p>Commenting on the partnership, Reliance Jio&#8217;s Group CEO Mathew Oommen said, “Providing affordable and high-speed broadband access to every Indian is Jio’s top priority. Our collaboration with SpaceX to bring Starlink to India reinforces this commitment and is a significant step towards seamless broadband connectivity for all. By integrating Starlink into Jio’s broadband ecosystem, we are expanding our reach and enhancing the reliability and accessibility of high-speed broadband in this AI-powered era, empowering communities and businesses across the nation.”</p>

<p>SpaceX President and Chief Operating Officer Gwynne Shotwell said, “We appreciate Jio’s commitment to advancing India’s connectivity. We look forward to working with Jio, obtaining the necessary authorisations from the Indian government, and providing access to Starlink’s high-speed internet services to people, organisations and businesses.”</p>



<p>This agreement is subject to obtaining the necessary government approvals for SpaceX to launch Starlink services in India. This partnership between Jio and Starlink is poised to usher in a new chapter in the Indian telecom market, not only providing affordable and fast internet services to customers but also taking competition to new heights.</p>

<p><strong>Bihar News:</strong> Holi and Juma fall on the same day, 14th March. Political statements regarding Holi and Juma (Friday) prayers continue. Following a statement by Sambhal CO Anuj Chaudhary in UP, the political discourse has intensified in Bihar. Meanwhile, Darbhanga Mayor Anjum Ara has also made a statement regarding Holi. She stated that the timings of Juma prayers will not be altered.</p>

<p>Darbhanga Mayor Anjum Ara stated that the timings of Juma prayers will not be changed. Considering the Juma prayers, she suggested a two-hour break in Holi celebrations in Darbhanga. She mentioned that there are a few individuals in society who disrupt the atmosphere. Therefore, a break should be observed during Holi from 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM, the prayer timings. She also suggested that during this time, those celebrating Holi should maintain a distance from the mosque. It is noteworthy that Anjum Ara joined the JDU in Patna with her husband in 2023 after becoming mayor.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">BJP&#8217;s Counterattack</h2>



<p>BJP MLA Haribhushan Thakur reacted to Mayor Anjum Ara&#8217;s statement, calling her a terrorist and a woman with a &#8220;Ghazwa-e-Hind&#8221; mentality. The BJP MLA stated that there will be no restrictions on Holi celebrations. Holi will not be stopped; not even for a minute.</p>

Sitharaman intervened, saying that the opposition members repeatedly insulted the Prime Minister, which is a wrong tradition.</p>

IPL 2025: Bumrah&#39;s former coach warns—repeating this mistake could be dangerous!


<p>Shane Bond on Bumrah Injury: India&#8217;s star fast bowler, Jasprit Bumrah, is undergoing training at the NCA to recover from a recurring back injury. He is one of India&#8217;s most prominent bowling assets. According to former New Zealand fast bowler Shane Bond, if Jasprit Bumrah suffers another injury to the same area of his back where he underwent surgery, it could be extremely dangerous for his career. Bond&#8217;s career also ended prematurely due to persistent back injuries. Bumrah hasn&#8217;t played a match since the Sydney New Year Test earlier this year. On the second day of that match, Bumrah left the field for a scan. Initially, it was reported as back spasms, but it later turned out to be a stress fracture, which ruled him out of the recently concluded Champions Trophy.</p>



<p>Bumrah is currently undergoing rehabilitation at the BCCI&#8217;s Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru, and there is no clarity on his full fitness or whether he will play for Mumbai Indians in IPL 2025. Bond worked as Bumrah&#8217;s bowling coach for Mumbai Indians for several years. He believes that Bumrah&#8217;s workload needs to be carefully managed to prevent a recurrence of his injury. Bond, currently in India as the Rajasthan Royals&#8217; bowling coach, said that as soon as Bumrah left the field for a scan after bowling only five overs on the second day of the Sydney Test, he suspected it was a stress-related injury.</p>



<p>Bond was one of the first fast bowlers in this century to undergo back surgery. He had the surgery at the age of 29, the same age at which Bumrah also had his surgery. Bond played cricket until the age of 34 despite injuries but eventually retired from Test cricket first and then from all formats within six months. In a 2010 conversation with <i>The Cricket Monthly</i>, Bond said, “If I played consecutive matches, my body would start breaking down, and I was tired of rehab.”</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Bond&#8217;s Career Ended Similarly</h2>



<p>Bond explained that the highest risk of injury for fast bowlers occurs when they quickly transition from T20 to Test cricket. This is why he is concerned about Bumrah, as India is scheduled to play a five-Test series in England in June, just a month after the IPL. Bond said, “Look, I think Bumrah will be fine, but it entirely depends on his workload management. Given the schedule and upcoming tours, it will be crucial to determine where he needs rest and where the highest risk lies. The transition from IPL to Test cricket will be a significant risk.”</p>



<p>India&#8217;s tour of England is a busy schedule, with five Test matches to be played between 28 June and 3 August. Bond said that India and Bumrah should not put as much strain on him as they did on the Australia tour, where he bowled a total of 151.2 overs in five Tests, 52 of which were in the Melbourne Boxing Day Test alone. Going forward, Bond said he wouldn&#8217;t want Bumrah to play more than two consecutive Test matches.</p>



<p>He said, “He is very important for the next World Cup and other tournaments. So, considering the five Test matches in England, I wouldn&#8217;t want him to play more than two consecutive matches. Going straight into Test cricket after the IPL would be a huge risk for him. How this is managed is the most important question. If we can keep him fit throughout the English summer, then I&#8217;ll be confident that he can remain fit in other formats as well. But if he injures the same spot again, it could be a massive blow to his career, as it would likely be difficult to have surgery on that spot again.”</p>

<p>An order has been issued to close all liquor shops in Unnao to maintain public peace. This announcement was made by the District Magistrate/Licensing Authority under Section 59 of the Excise Act. Liquor shops will remain closed until 5 PM on 14 March. This includes all shops associated with the Excise Department. The order has been issued by District Magistrate Gourang Rathi.</p>



<p>In Unnao, Uttar Pradesh, District Magistrate Gourang Rathi has ordered the closure of all liquor shops. This order will be in effect from 10 PM on 13 March 2025 to 5 PM on 14 March 2025. During this period, all shops selling country liquor, foreign liquor, beer, and cannabis will remain closed. This order applies to all wholesale and retail vendors.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">No Compensation Payable</h2>



<p>According to the District Magistrate&#8217;s order, all shops with licenses FL-7 and FL-49/41 will remain closed. He stated that no compensation would be payable to liquor license holders for this closure. Strict adherence to this order is to be ensured. The Excise Commissioner, Prayagraj; Superintendent of Police, Unnao; Additional District Magistrate; City Magistrate; all Sub-Divisional Magistrates; District Excise Officer; and all Regional Excise Inspectors have been informed of this order.</p>

<p>A Maharashtra court has ordered the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) to exchange old notes worth ₹20 lakh, eight years after demonetisation. Following a Bombay High Court ruling, old ₹500 notes seized by the Income Tax Department during demonetisation will now be exchanged.</p>



<p>The Bombay High Court recently directed the RBI to exchange the seized old notes belonging to eight individuals from Kolhapur with new currency. This decision provides significant relief to the eight petitioners after eight years.</p>



<p>Ramesh Potdar and seven others from Kolhapur filed a petition in the High Court in 2017. A division bench of Justices Atul Chandurkar and Milind Sathe, while deciding on this petition, ordered the Reserve Bank to exchange the demonetised ₹500 notes for new currency by 12 March 2025.</p>



<p>On 8 November 2016, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced demonetisation. Subsequently, the Reserve Bank allowed the deposit of old notes in banks until 30 December 2016. However, just four days before this deadline, on 26 December 2016, the Income Tax department raided the Potdar family&#8217;s home and seized ₹20 lakh worth of old ₹500 notes.</p>



<p>Later, the Income Tax department summoned the Potdar family for questioning and recorded their statements. After the investigation, on 10 January 2017, the department informed the Shahuwadi police that the notes would not be confiscated. Following this, on 14 January 2017, the police informed the Potdar family.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Reserve Bank&#8217;s Refusal</h2>



<p>After receiving the money back, when the Potdar family went to the Mumbai RBI office on 17 January 2017 and requested the exchange of their old notes, the top bank officials refused, as the deadline for exchanging notes had passed. The Potdar family was forced to approach the High Court.</p>


<p>The Bombay High Court has directed the Reserve Bank of India to exchange the obsolete banknotes held by the petitioners.</p>

The police are investigating all aspects of the case. The investigation is being carried out by the Station House Officer, Karan Singh Khangarot.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Sexual Abuse Mentioned in Statements</h2>



<p>Bijainagar police station registered a case of abduction on March 7th based on a report filed by the father of the student who had initially gone missing. Police, based on the location of the student&#8217;s mobile phone, searched the town and recovered the student from the roof of the female teacher&#8217;s house. He was presented before the CWC (Child Welfare Committee) and handed over to his family. However, the student&#8217;s statement to the police and his subsequent statement in court mention sexual abuse. Based on the student&#8217;s confession, the police have added sections related to sexual abuse and the POCSO Act to the case.</p>



<p>Sexual abuse has been mentioned in the statements of the minor student. Based on the victim&#8217;s statement, sections of the POCSO Act and sexual abuse have been added. An impartial investigation will be conducted in this case.</p>

<p><strong>Fire on Rajasthan-MP Border:</strong> A massive fire has been raging for the past two days in the forests of the Upermal area, located on the border of Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh. This fire has resulted in the widespread destruction of forest resources and wildlife. The fire initially broke out in the Aroli and Saimala protected forest areas of Bhilwara district and then spread to the protected forests of the Begund area in Chittorgarh district.</p>



<p>Due to strong winds late Monday night, the fire spread to the forests of Rawadda, Samariya, and Charcha blocks. This devastating fire has consumed 175 hectares of forest area and countless wild animals have fallen victim to it.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">20 Hours of Struggle</h2>



<p>Upon receiving information about the fire, the Begund Forest Department team immediately sprang into action. With the help of the Begund Municipal Corporation fire brigade and villagers, after a strenuous 20-hour effort, they succeeded in stopping the fire&#8217;s rapid spread. However, the forest department and village teams are still working together to completely bring the fire under control.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Heavy Damage to Forest Resources</h2>



<p>There are fears that deer, rabbits, snakes, birds, and many other wild animals residing in the forest have been burnt in this fire. In addition, a large number of rare plants and trees have also been affected by the fire.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Investigation into the Causes of the Fire Continues</h2>



<p>The forest department team has started investigating the causes of the fire. According to initial information, the fire spread rapidly due to the hot weather and strong winds. However, some locals say that the possibility of the fire being started by those involved in illegal logging or poaching cannot be ruled out.</p>



<p>Local villagers have demanded that the forest department increase vigilance and take additional measures to monitor the forests to prevent such incidents of fire.</p>

<p><strong>Madhya Pradesh Budget 2025: </strong>Ladli Behna Yojana to Continue: The government has assured that no existing schemes will be discontinued. On Monday, the first day of the Madhya Pradesh Budget session (Madhya Pradesh Budget 2025), Governor Mangubhai Patel gave this assurance to the House during his address. This confirms that the ambitious Ladli Behna Yojana in MP will not be shut down for now. This is welcome news for the eligible women beneficiaries. </p>



<p>The Governor&#8217;s address, spanning 22 minutes, highlighted the government&#8217;s welfare initiatives. Congress MLAs protested the short duration of the session, arriving at the assembly wearing black masks and staging a demonstration at the Gandhi statue. They demanded an extension of the session, arguing that a short session would prevent them from adequately raising the concerns of the public.</p>



<p>Subsequently, a meeting of the Business Advisory Committee decided to maximise discussion time in the House. The meeting, chaired by Assembly Speaker Narendra Singh Tomar, was attended by Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav and Leader of the Opposition Umang Singhar. It was decided that there would be no lunch break during the session, ensuring continuous proceedings and allowing for more discussion time. An agreement was also reached to extend the House sittings until late evening, breaking with the long-standing tradition of adjourning proceedings after the budget presentation. </p>



<p>Finance Minister Jagdish Deora will present the budget on March 12th. House proceedings will resume at 3 pm on the same day to address government business. The budget session meetings will continue until late evening, without a lunch break.</p>

<p><strong>Chief Minister</strong> Dr. Mohan Yadav described the Governor&#8217;s address as a roadmap for the government&#8217;s policies and intentions.
