
<p><strong>BJP Leader Killed:</strong> The incident occurred in the Dabthara Himachal village under the Junawai police station area. Three miscreants arrived on a motorbike and entered the compound under the pretext of a meeting. One of them injected a poisonous substance into his stomach. His family rushed him to Aligarh Medical College, but he had already died. Meanwhile, the post-mortem conducted late at night at the medical college did not reveal the cause of death. However, viscera samples have been preserved.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Who is BJP leader Gulfaam?</h2>



<p>66-year-old Gulfaam Singh Yadav, who challenged Mulayam Singh Yadav, the SP chief, in the 2004 by-election from the Gunnaur assembly constituency, held several positions in the BJP. His wife is the Pradhan (village head) of Dabthara Himachal for the third time. </p>



<p>According to the police, on Monday, Gulfaam was sitting in his courtyard. Three accused arrived on a motorcycle and greeted Gulfaam Yadav. As soon as Gulfaam lay down after being offered water, one of the miscreants injected a poisonous substance into his stomach and fled. His health deteriorated after the injection.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Forensic team collects evidence</h2>



<p>His son informed the police and took Gulfaam to the CHC (Community Health Centre), from where he was referred to a higher centre. Upon arrival at Aligarh Medical College, doctors declared him dead. </p>



<p>On receiving the information, SP Krishna Kumar Bishnoi, ASP Anukriti Sharma, and the CO (Circle Officer) and forensic team collected evidence from the scene. Meanwhile, numerous RSS and BJP leaders gathered at the post-mortem house of Aligarh Medical College late at night. </p>



<p>Since the post-mortem did not confirm poisoning, the viscera has been preserved. The family left for Sambhal with the body around 10:15 pm.</p>

<p><strong>Attack on ED Team:</strong> An ED (Enforcement Directorate) team was attacked in Bhilai, Chhattisgarh while leaving the residence of the state&#8217;s former Chief Minister, Bhupesh Baghel. Supporters of Mr Baghel had staged protests during the raid. When the team was leaving after the raid, they were attacked by a mob. Reports suggest that several activists lay down in front of the ED vehicle.</p>



<p>According to reports, a group of people attacked Enforcement Directorate (ED) officials who were searching the premises of former Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel. There are also reports of the ED team being attacked with bricks and stones. A person throwing stones at the officer&#8217;s car was apprehended by security forces at the scene and taken away by the police.</p>



<p>Officials allege that the attackers were Congress workers angered by the search of former CM Bhupesh Baghel&#8217;s premises. Sources indicate that the car of a Deputy Director-level ED officer was also attacked.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Attack on ED Team: ED Officials File Police Complaint</h2>



<p>The ED officials have filed a written complaint at the Bhilai-Three police station. According to the complaint, while returning after the investigation, the officials&#8217; vehicle was obstructed by a crowd of protestors who shouted slogans, climbed onto the vehicle, and pelted it with stones. The window of one vehicle was shattered. <p>The ED&#8217;s surprise raid on the residence of former CM Bhupesh Baghel caused a stir throughout the day. The ED team arrived at his residence at 6:20 AM. Congress workers gathered upon receiving the news, staging a sit-in and shouting slogans such as &#8220;Modi teri tanashahi nahin chalegi&#8230;&#8221; (Modi&#8217;s dictatorship will not work&#8230;) and &#8220;Bhupesh bhaiya zindabad&#8221; (Long live Bhupesh Bhaiya).</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Baghel Leaves Home After ED Officials Depart</h2>



<p>Meanwhile, ED officials questioned Bhupesh Baghel and his son, Chaitanya Baghel, at their residence. The officials examined their mobile phones, cupboards, jewellery purchase bills, and land documents, thoroughly searching the house. The questioning lasted for about 12 hours, until 6 PM.</p>



<p>It is reported that the ED officials seized important documents and a mobile phone. Afterwards, the ED team left for Raipur with a bag of evidence. Bhupesh Baghel left his house after the ED team departed, meeting with supporters and expressing gratitude for their support. He stated that the officials had entered without a search warrant, claiming they would bring one later.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Attack on ED Team: Investments with Builders</h2>



<p>ED sources have revealed that the locations raided are linked to Bhupesh Baghel and his son, Chaitanya Baghel, with alleged investments in their businesses. There is mention of investments in the businesses of builders Ajay Chauhan and Manoj Rajput. Accounts of Odia employees were allegedly used in Manoj Rajput&#8217;s business. Rice millers Ashish Paliwal and Vinit Jain also reportedly invested. The ED may raid the premises of other such businessmen.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Files Seized from Vehicles</h2>



<p>A thorough search of Bhupesh Baghel and his son Chaitanya Baghel&#8217;s vehicles, including the boot and seats, was conducted. Files were found in Chaitanya&#8217;s car and seized by the officers.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">ED Raids 14 Locations</h2>



<p>According to the ED, separate teams raided 14 locations, including those of: Mukesh Chandrakar (Bhilai District Congress President), Rajendra Sahu (General Secretary, Pradesh Congress Committee), builder Manoj Rajput, builder Ajay Chauhan, Sunil Jain (owner of Saheli Jewellers), Santosh Swarnakar, Abhishek Thakur (alias Gabbar), Kamal Agarwal (owner of Hotel Caribbean), Vinod Agarwal (owner of Om Sai Baba Rice Mill), Lakshminarayan Bansal (alias Pappu Bansal), transporter Sandeep Singh, Ajay Agarwal, Sunil Agarwal, and others.</p>



<p>Searches at Ajay Chauhan&#8217;s and Saheli Jewellers continued late into the night. The ED officials seized several documents from these locations.</p>

<p><strong>ED Raid:</strong> The impact of the ED raid conducted on Monday at the residence of former Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel was also visible in the Vidhan Sabha. Congress MLAs disrupted the Question Hour and accused the ED of misuse of power. </p>

<p>This resulted in the self-suspension of 15 Congress MLAs. Even after suspension, the MLAs continued their protest in the well of the House. This led to the adjournment of the House proceedings for 10 minutes. Following this, opposition MLAs staged a demonstration in front of the Mahatma Gandhi statue located in the Vidhan Sabha complex. Opposition MLAs boycotted the House proceedings for the entire day. Thereafter, most MLAs also went to the former Chief Minister&#8217;s residence in Bhilai.</p>



<p>At the beginning of the Question Hour, Kuwar Singh Nishad raised the issue of the ED&#8217;s action. Subsequently, other opposition MLAs also vehemently opposed it. The opposition MLAs argued that when Lakhma raised a question regarding corruption, the ED team arrived, and similarly, when Bhupesh Baghel raised a question regarding the PM&#8217;s residence, the ED also arrived. In response, BJP MLA Ajay Chandrakar stated that the ED&#8217;s action is not a subject for the Vidhan Sabha and that it is not a political platform.</p>

<p><strong>Madhya Pradesh Budget 2025: </strong>Ladli Behna Yojana to Continue: The government has assured that no existing schemes will be discontinued. On Monday, the first day of the Madhya Pradesh Budget session (Madhya Pradesh Budget 2025), Governor Mangubhai Patel gave this assurance to the House during his address. It was decided that there would be no lunch break during the session, ensuring continuous proceedings and allowing for more discussion time. An agreement was also reached to extend the House sittings until late evening, breaking with the long-standing tradition of adjourning proceedings after the budget presentation. </p>



<p>Finance Minister Jagdish Deora will present the budget on March 12th. House proceedings will resume at 3 pm on the same day to address government business. The budget session meetings will continue until late evening, without a lunch break.</p>

<p><strong>Jaipur.</strong> Major news has emerged regarding the expansion of metro services in Jaipur. Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma has directed that the Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the proposed metro corridor (Phase-2) from Sitapura (Goner Mod) to Ambabari (Todi Mod) be completed by 31 March 2025. He stated that tenders for the civil works of this project should be issued before 15 August, and its timely implementation ensured. This new metro route will connect major areas such as Pratap Nagar, Tonk Road, Sikar Road, and Vidhyadhar Nagar, providing better transport facilities to the general public.</p>

<p>He instructed the officials to ensure adequate parking arrangements at the proposed stations on the Sitapura-Ambabari metro corridor. He also instructed that the stations be connected to pod taxi systems, keeping in mind passenger convenience. Sharma provided necessary guidelines while discussing the alignment of the metro route.</p>



<p>In the meeting, officials gave a detailed presentation to the Chief Minister regarding the metro project. They stated that all the ongoing and future metro rail projects of the state will be implemented by a joint venture company of the central government and JMRC.</p>



<p>On this occasion, the Chief Minister&#8217;s Additional Chief Secretary Shikhar Agrawal and Principal Secretary Alok Gupta, Jaipur Metro Rail Corporation&#8217;s CMD Vaibhav Galaria, Jaipur Development Authority Commissioner Aanndi, and other related officials were present.</p>

<p>Rain Alert: The weather in Uttar Pradesh is currently causing discomfort. March usually brings cool breezes, but this year, temperatures have begun to rise. </p>



<p>The entire state is experiencing a heatwave. In many districts of southern UP, temperatures have crossed 35 degrees Celsius. According to the Meteorological Department, light showers and thunderstorms are likely in many parts of UP from 13 to 15 March due to the influence of a Western Disturbance.</p>

<p>According to Atul Kumar Singh, senior scientist at the Regional Meteorological Centre, light showers are expected in the Terai and north-western UP regions due to the impact of the new Western Disturbance. </p>



<p>On Tuesday, the mercury in several districts of southern UP crossed 35 degrees Celsius, while the night temperature remained above 15 degrees Celsius in about 18 districts.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Possibility of Rain Before Holi</h2>



<p>The Meteorological Department has stated that light showers with thunderstorms are likely in the Terai region of western Uttar Pradesh, Agra, and Bundelkhand between 13 and 15 March. </p>



<p>Besides Uttar Pradesh, heavy rain and thunderstorms are predicted for parts of Punjab, Haryana, and Delhi. Westerly winds are also expected to blow at 30 km per hour, which may provide some relief from the heat.</p>


<p>The meteorological department has issued a warning of deteriorating weather conditions during Holi. Heavy rain with thunder and lightning is likely in several states on 13 and 14 March.</p>
