
<p><strong>Ganga Expressway:</strong> The Ganga Expressway, connecting Meerut and Prayagraj, will now extend to Varanasi and Sonbhadra in Purvanchal and Haridwar in Uttarakhand. The state government has announced improvements to connectivity in West UP, including Meerut. </p>



<p>The government will also fully support the Delhi-Meerut Rapid Rail project. Funding has been secured for the operation of the Major Dhyanchand Sports University from the next financial year, with ₹223 crore allocated.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Announcement of Four New Expressways</h2>



<p>In the budget presented to the Legislative Assembly on Thursday, Finance Minister Suresh Khanna announced the construction of four new expressways. </p>



<p>The Ganga Expressway will be extended to Sonbhadra via Prayagraj, Mirzapur, Varanasi, and Chandauli, and will be named the Vindhya Expressway. ₹50 crore has been allocated for this project.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Greenfield Expressway Also Announced</h2>



<p>A Greenfield Expressway has been announced to connect the Agra-Lucknow Expressway to the Ganga Expressway via Hardoi and Farrukhabad. ₹900 crore has been allocated for this project. </p>



<p>The Ganga Expressway will also be extended from Meerut to Haridwar, with ₹50 crore allocated. The Meerut Sports University has also received funding in the budget, with ₹223 crore allocated for 2025-26. </p>

<p>PM Modi&#8217;s visit to Bhopal for the Global Investors Summit (GIS) is prompting a high alert. He will arrive at Raja Bhoj Airport on the afternoon of 23 February. The 15-kilometre route from the airport to Raj Bhavan will take approximately 19 minutes.</p>



<p>Robust security arrangements are in place for this 15-km route. The area will be a no-fly zone, with drones banned. Thousands of residents in hundreds of houses, hotels, and guesthouses along the route have undergone verification to prevent any security lapses. People are being instructed not to loiter or cause any obstruction. Residents are advised to keep their windows and doors closed and to remain indoors while the PM&#8217;s motorcade passes.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">PM Modi&#8217;s Convoy to Traverse Five Police Station Areas</h2>



<p>PM Modi&#8217;s convoy will pass through five police station areas: Koh-e-Fiza, Gandhi Nagar, Talaiya, Shyamla Hills, and Arera Hills. The longest stretch will be within the Koh-e-Fiza police station area. This will be the first time PM Modi will be in Bhopal for 24 hours. After laying the foundation stone of a cancer hospital in Bageshwar Dham on 22 February, he will arrive in Bhopal and spend the night in the President&#8217;s Suite at Raj Bhavan.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Extensive Verification Underway</h2>



<p>The proposed route for the PM&#8217;s convoy is from Airport Road via Lal Ghati and VIP Road to the Raja Bhoj statue. Hundreds of houses, hotels, guesthouses, and businesses line these roads. As a security measure, information is being gathered about residents within 50 metres of the main route. Police verification of these residents is underway. Families are being instructed to keep their windows and doors closed and refrain from looking out when the PM&#8217;s convoy passes. They are also asked to immediately inform the police of any visitors.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Police Personnel to Monitor</h2>



<p>Police personnel will be deployed on all high-rise buildings along the 15-kilometre route, using binoculars to monitor activity. Drone flights are prohibited for 48 hours along the entire route.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Three-Tier Security System</h2>



<p>A three-tier security system will be in place for PM Modi and other VIPs. The first layer will comprise SPG commandos, the second layer IPS officers, and the third layer police personnel. Around 5,500 police personnel, including 25 IPS officers, will be deployed for security during the event. ADG-level officers will oversee the security arrangements.</p>



<p>Besides PM Modi, around two dozen diplomats and over a dozen industrialists from various countries are expected to visit Bhopal. Therefore, Bhopal is under tight security.</p>

Rajasthan: Death Threat to Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma Prompts Jail Search


<p><strong>CM Threat Dausa:</strong> A death threat against CM Bhajan Lal has been received from prison once again. This time, Dausa district&#8217;s Central Jail, Shyalawas Jail, is under scrutiny. A threat to kill the CM was issued from within the jail. The incident is reported to have occurred last night, prompting police to launch a search operation within the prison.</p>



<p>According to sources, a prisoner serving a sentence under the POCSO Act made a call to the Jaipur police control room between 12:30 and 1:00 AM, issuing a threat in the name of the Chief Minister. Once the police traced the call, the location was identified as Dausa district jail. Jaipur and Dausa police immediately sprang into action.</p>



<p>Following the incident, teams from ASP Guru Sharan Rao, Nangal Deputy SP Charul Gupta, and Papadada and Nangal police stations began an investigation within the jail. During the search, mobile phones were reportedly recovered from prisoners. The police are currently thoroughly investigating the matter and attempting to ascertain how the mobile phones entered the jail.</p>



<p>This is not the first time the Chief Minister has received threats from prison. Seven months ago, another inmate in the same jail called the Jaipur police control room and threatened to kill the CM. Then too, the police conducted a search operation in the jail, seizing mobile phones and arresting one individual. Thirteen months prior to that, a similar threat was issued from Jaipur&#8217;s Central Jail. These incidents clearly indicate that mobile phones continue to infiltrate prisons unchecked.</p>

<p>Lakhs of employees in Madhya Pradesh are set to receive a big salary hike. The High Court has delivered a major ruling in favour of outsourced employees and labourers in the state. </p>



<p>The Indore High Court, while deciding on the minimum wage for these employees, has directed the state government to determine the minimum wage for textile workers within two months. </p>



<p>The court has ordered the convening of a meeting of the Madhya Pradesh Minimum Wage Advisory Board to fix the minimum wage. </p>



<p>It is being said that the state government may now announce a wage increase from next month for over 20 lakh outsourced employees and labourers, excluding textile workers. </p>



<p>Employee organisations and labour unions have expressed happiness over the High Court&#8217;s decision and urged the government to immediately increase the wages of the employees. However, textile industry employees and workers will not benefit from this immediately.</p>



<p>The Indore bench of the High Court delivered a significant judgment on Friday in the minimum revised wage case. </p>



<p>The court directed the government to determine the minimum wage for textile industry workers within two months. Instructions were given to convene a meeting of the Madhya Pradesh Minimum Wage Advisory Board for this purpose. Thus, the minimum wage for textile employees and workers will be determined separately. </p>



<p>Approximately 4 lakh employees and labourers are employed in the textile industry in the state.</p>



<p>Following this decision by the Indore bench of the High Court, a wage increase from next month is being discussed for all other employees and workers, excluding the textile industry. This will benefit approximately 21 lakh outsourced employees and labourers.</p>



<p>The Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU) opposed the government&#8217;s dividing workers into two categories. CITU lawyer Babulal Nagar argued in court, &#8220;How did the state government amend this in January 2025 after the stay was lifted? How were the labourers divided into different categories?&#8221; The CITU termed the division of workers as incorrect and announced its intention to fight a legal battle against it.</p>



<p>In its decision, the High Court not only directed the determination of the minimum wage for textile employees and workers but also asked when the government would implement it. The government has been instructed to determine the minimum wage, grade, and implementation timeline for labourers within the next two months, according to the prescribed procedure.</p>

Brutal Assault: Worker&#39;s Abdomen Inflated with Air Pump


<p><strong>Jaipur News: Kaladeera.</strong> A worker at a slipper factory located in the RIICO industrial area of the town filled the private parts of his colleague with air from a compressor pump as a joke on Friday, causing him to fall ill. Other workers subsequently admitted him to a private hospital in Choomu.</p>



<p>The victim underwent intestinal surgery in the evening. Police have gathered information about the incident from the worker. Nine months ago, a similar incident occurred in the RIICO area, where a contractor&#8217;s minor brother filled the private parts of a worker at a company operating on Road Number 14 with air from a compressor pump, resulting in the worker&#8217;s death during treatment at the hospital.</p>



<p>Police stated that Raghuveer Singh Manjhi, a worker from Bihar employed at the slipper factory in the RIICO area, filled the private parts of his co-worker, Sovik Singh (31), from West Bengal, with air using a pressure pipe, causing his intestines to rupture. Kaladeera police have registered a case against the accused and detained him.</p>

<p>Hereditary cancer does not mean that every person who receives these types of genetic changes will get cancer. But it does mean that the person is more susceptible to that particular type of cancer.</p>

<p>Approximately three and a half years ago, an obscene video of a Deputy SP and a female constable went viral in Rajasthan. Following the video&#8217;s release, a case was filed against Deputy SP Heeralal Saini and the female constable, resulting in their arrest. The then-Congress government dismissed both from their jobs.</p>



<p>However, a single bench of the High Court later ordered the reinstatement of Deputy SP Heeralal Saini (. A division bench has now stayed the single bench&#8217;s order.</p>

<p>In July 2021, an obscene video of Rajasthan Police Deputy SP Heeralal Saini and a female constable went viral on social media. The video also showed the female constable&#8217;s 6-year-old child, depicting indecent acts against the child. Consequently, a case was registered against both under the POCSO Act, leading to their arrest. The government dismissed both from government service.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Government&#8217;s Right to Take Action</h2>



<p>The High Court&#8217;s division bench has stayed a single bench order reinstating Heeralal Saini, a dismissed Rajasthan Police Service officer, in connection with the obscenity case involving a female constable at a swimming pool. Justices Indrajit Singh and Manish Sharma , acting on the state government&#8217;s appeal, issued this order. Advocate General Rajendra Prasad stated that the single bench ordered Saini&#8217;s reinstatement with all benefits while allowing the government to investigate based on the charge sheet. Two contradictory orders cannot be issued simultaneously. The state government has the right to take action against the guilty based on the shameful act.</p>

Uttar Pradesh Boosts Contract Worker Stipends, Offers ₹5 Lakh Medical Coverage


<p>UP Budget 2025: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced key highlights of the budget, including a significant development concerning outsourced employees. He declared that outsourced employees will receive a minimum monthly salary of ₹16,000 to ₹20,000. Furthermore, their recruitment will now be handled through corporations instead of directly through agencies.</p>

<p>In another major announcement, CM Yogi stated that contractual Home Guards, PRD personnel, village chowkidars, Shikshamitras, instructors, Asha workers, Anganwadi workers, ANMs, and all personnel associated with contracts and sanitation will receive free medical treatment up to ₹5 lakh under the Chief Minister Jan Arogya Yojana. A Chief Minister Jan Arogya Ayushman card will be issued to these employees.</p>

<p>Following the presentation of the budget by the Finance Minister, CM Yogi addressed the media, stating that the state government will establish service corporations for the recruitment of outsourced personnel. <p><strong>MP News: </strong>The body of a 24-year-old woman was found under suspicious circumstances in her room in the Lambakheda area of Bhopal, the capital of Madhya Pradesh. The woman was married but had separated from her husband a year after their wedding and was living in a rented room. When she didn&#8217;t answer her phone, her brother-in-law went to her room and found her unconscious on the floor. It is suspected that she committed suicide.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Separated from Husband After a Year of Marriage</h2>



<p>The body of 24-year-old Aarti Kushwaha, who was living in a rented room in the Lambakheda area of Bhopal, was found under suspicious circumstances in her room. Aarti got married at the age of 20, but a year later, disputes arose between her and her husband, leading to her moving into a separate rented room. She helped in getting group loans approved. When Aarti didn&#8217;t answer her phone, her family informed her brother-in-law, who also lives in Bhopal. He went to her room and found her dead.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Suspected Suicide</h2>



<p>Police say that initially, it appears to be a case of suicide, but they are investigating other angles as well. According to the police, Aarti Kushwaha, from Kadaiya Kheda village in Vidisha, was living in a rented accommodation in Lambakheda. Suspicious substances were found in the room, leading to suspicions that she may have consumed poison.</p>

<p><strong>Accident News:</strong> A horrific accident involving a car from Karnataka occurred on the Varanasi-Prayagraj highway, resulting in the death of six people, including a husband and wife. The occupants of the car were devotees travelling to the Maha Kumbh. Their vehicle collided with a stationary truck on the highway. The impact was so severe that the car was completely wrecked.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Eleven People in the Car</h2>



<p>This accident occurred on Friday morning near Mirzamurad on GT Road. Approximately eleven people, all residents of Karnataka, were travelling in a Cruiser jeep bearing a Karnataka registration number. According to media reports, police stated that the jeep was travelling at a high speed. There are also suspicions that the driver may have fallen asleep at the wheel, leading to the collision with the truck. The impact was so forceful that the front passenger side of the jeep was embedded in the truck.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">People Trapped in the Car</h2>



<p>Following the screams, locals and police attempted to rescue the devotees from the car but were unsuccessful. A crane was then used to separate the truck and the jeep. The Cruiser jeep was cut open to extract the injured passengers.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Woman&#8217;s Head Severed</h2>



<p>In this accident, the head of the woman sitting next to the driver was severed and thrown onto the road. According to media reports, police speculate that the woman&#8217;s head may have been out of the window at the time of the accident, leading to its decapitation.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Truck Driver Flees the Scene</h2>



<p>The truck driver was absent at the time of the accident. Media reports cite locals who stated that the truck driver had parked the vehicle on the road two hours prior to the incident. The driver informed a nearby shopkeeper that his truck had broken down before moving away to sleep. However, he fled the scene after the accident. The police are searching for him.</p>

Work on MP&#39;s 267-km new rail line underway, land taken from 40 villages


<p><strong>MP News:</strong> Construction of a third railway line between Itarsi and Amla has commenced, following the completion of the Bhopal-Itarsi section. The project involves laying a 130 km third rail line between Amla and Itarsi, with groundwork currently underway to prepare the soil base for track laying. </p>



<p>Delays in land acquisition in Narmadapuram and Betul districts caused a postponement in the commencement of construction on the Itarsi-Amla section.</p>



<p>The third railway line project required the acquisition of 16.036 hectares of land from 290 farmers across 40 villages in three tehsils of Betul district. </p>



<p>Completion of this third railway line is expected to significantly improve rail traffic. The current route includes a challenging Ghat section, which currently causes considerable traffic congestion.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Four Tunnels Planned</h2>



<p>The third line will include four tunnels totaling 1.40 km in length within the Maramjhiri-Dharakhoh Ghat section. The project involves laying a 267 km third line between Itarsi and Nagpur, encompassing 27 stations and the construction of 361 bridges and culverts. </p>



<p>Underpasses have already been constructed at Peepaldhana and Maramjhiri on the Itarsi-Betul route as part of this project.</p>



<p>Two bypass tracks, one up and one down, have been completed between Pawarkheda and Jujharpur. The railway has invested approximately ₹600 crore in both projects. </p>



<p>To prevent soil erosion and collapse along the bypass track connecting Jujharpur via Khedra, a protective wall is being constructed using stones bound with iron wire. </p>



<p>It is noteworthy that heavy rainfall last year caused significant soil erosion and subsidence around both bypass tracks, creating large gaps and tilting some overhead electric line poles.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">The Need for a Third Line</h2>



<p>Currently, the Nagpur-Itarsi section has only two railway lines, accommodating both passenger and freight trains. To accommodate passenger trains, freight trains are often halted for extended periods. </p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Project Cost Exceeds ₹2000 Crore</h2>



<p>The construction of the third line between Bhopal and Itarsi is nearing completion. Work is now underway on the Itarsi-Nagpur section, with an estimated project cost of ₹2525.73 crore. The new line will run parallel to the existing railway lines.</p>


<p>Land acquisition has been carried out for the third rail line project affecting 290 farmers across 40 villages in 3 tehsils of Betul district. A total of 16.036 hectares of land has been acquired.</p>
