<p>On 9 July, over 25 crore employees and labourers across India will participate in a nationwide strike against the central government&#8217;s anti-labour, anti-farmer, and pro-corporate policies. This strike has been called by 10 central trade unions and their affiliated organisations, including the All India Trade Union Congress (AITUC), Hind Mazdoor Sabha (HMS), CITU, INTUC, TUCC, SEWA, AICCTU, LPFA, UTUC, and others. The strike also enjoys the support of the Samyukta Kisan Morcha and agricultural workers&#8217; unions.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Strike Demands</h2>



<p>This strike is primarily aimed at demanding the repeal of four new labour codes, which the unions have described as crushing the rights of workers. Further demands include the restoration of the old pension scheme, a minimum wage of ₹26,000, an end to contract jobs, a halt to the privatisation of government departments, and unemployment allowance. The unions allege that the government has provided ₹17 lakh crore in relief to capitalists while ignoring the problems of labourers and farmers.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Major Services to be Affected</h2>



<p>The strike is likely to disrupt operations in several sectors, including banking, postal services, coal mining, transport, construction, and healthcare. Notably, 27 lakh employees in the power sector will participate in the strike in protest against the privatisation of two major power distribution companies (PVVNL and DVVNL) in Uttar Pradesh, potentially affecting power supply.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Bihar Bandh</h2>



<p>In Bihar, the Mahagathbandhan parties have called for a <em>chakka jam</em> (road blockade) in support of the strike, with Congress leader Rahul Gandhi also expected to participate. Separately, Pappu Yadav has announced a Bihar bandh over the issue of voter list revision.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Preparations in Full Swing</h2>



<p>Preparations are underway across the country to make the strike historic. Public meetings and awareness campaigns have been ongoing since 30 June. On 8 July, torch processions, candle marches, and motorcycle rallies will be held in several states, including Chhattisgarh.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Leaders&#8217; Appeals</h2>



<p>Subhash Lamba, President of the All India State Government Employees Federation, stated, &#8220;This strike is against the labour codes, which are considered documents of the enslavement of labourers and employees.&#8221; CITU leader Sukhbir Singh termed it &#8220;historic,&#8221; saying it would symbolise unity against the government&#8217;s anti-people policies.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Potential Economic Losses</h2>



<p>The strike is expected to cause economic losses of crores of rupees. Trade unions have appealed to the government for negotiations on their demands, but have yet to receive a positive response. <p><strong>35 Percent Reservation for Women in Bihar:</strong> Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has taken a historic decision for the women of Bihar, just before the Bihar elections. The Nitish government has announced the implementation of 35 percent reservation for native women of Bihar in government jobs. This decision was unanimously passed in the cabinet meeting held on Tuesday.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">What is the new policy?</h2>



<p>Targeting the reservation for women in government jobs further, the Nitish government has implemented a domicile policy. Now, only native women of Bihar will benefit from the 35% reservation in direct recruitment in all government services, cadres, and positions at all levels. Women from outside Bihar will be excluded from this reservation and will have to apply under the general category.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Boost for Women</h2>



<p>Chief Minister Nitish Kumar described this decision as a significant step towards women&#8217;s empowerment. He said, “This decision has been taken to economically empower the women of Bihar and provide them with more employment opportunities.” Experts believe that this policy will provide local women with more opportunities in government jobs, thereby improving their socio-economic status.</p>

<p>In the election year, this decision is being considered a masterstroke by the Nitish government. <p>A major accident occurred in Semmankuppam, Cuddalore district, Tamil Nadu. A school bus was crossing a railway track when it was struck by a train. Three school students died at the scene, and several others sustained serious injuries and were hospitalised.</p>



<p>Locals reported that five children were in the bus at the time of the incident. The train&#8217;s impact severely damaged the bus. They stated that at approximately 7:45 AM, the bus carrying five children was attempting to cross railway level crossing gate number 170 when it was hit by the Villupuram-Mayiladuthurai passenger train.</p>

It will also assess how the individual can benefit the UAE&#8217;s economy and society, such as through culture, business, science, startups, or professional services. Following this, the Rayed Group will forward the application to the UAE government, which will make the final decision on whether the visa will be granted.</p>

<p>Individuals wishing to apply for this visa can do so through One Vasco visa service centres in India or online via the Rayed Group&#8217;s website and call centre. There is no need to travel to Dubai.</p>

<p>This Golden Visa, granted upon nomination, is valid for life. It allows the individual to bring their entire family to Dubai, employ a domestic helper and driver, and engage in any type of business or professional activity. <p>Stacks of currency notes were found inside a government residence that had been locked for 11 years. The residence was allocated to an ACMO (Additional Chief Medical Officer) who died approximately 11 years ago. All the notes were old ₹500 and ₹1000 denominations.</p>

<p>This government residence is located in the Miranpur CHC complex. It was allocated to ACMO Dr. B.N. Tiwari. Dr Tiwari was appointed in Ambedkarnagar on 28 August 2007. He died under suspicious circumstances on 29 January 2014. His body was found on his bed in his room, following which the administration sealed the residence. Neither his family came forward nor did the department deem it necessary to reopen the room.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">House remained closed for a decade</h2>



<p>The room remained locked for almost a decade. During this time, more than half a dozen CMOs came and went in the district, but no one paid attention to this residence. However, when the new CMO, Dr. Sanjay Kumar Shaival (डॉ. संजय कुमार शैवाल), decided to have the building repaired, the matter came to light again.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">₹22.5 Lakh Found Hidden Under Bed and in Cupboard</h2>



<p>With permission from the District Magistrate, a team was formed, and with videography, the room&#8217;s lock was broken. Upon opening the door, the officials were stunned by the sight inside the room. Old ₹500 and ₹1000 notes, hidden under the bed and in the cupboard, were recovered. The total amount was ₹22,48,000. Since these notes became invalid after the 2016 demonetisation, they have been deposited in the treasury.</p>

<p><strong>Surat-Jaipur Flight: Jaipur/Surat:</strong> On Monday, an IndiGo flight from Surat to Jaipur was almost ready for take-off at Surat International Airport when a swarm of bees attacked. This caused the Jaipur flight to be delayed by an hour. The incident caused panic among the passengers.</p>



<p>According to reports, a surprising incident occurred at Surat Airport on Monday. As IndiGo flight 6E-7267, scheduled to depart from Surat to Jaipur, was about to take off around 4:20 PM, a swarm of bees suddenly attacked the aircraft. The plane was just about to take off from the runway when the swarm of bees settled directly on the plane, causing chaos.</p>



<p>The bees settled particularly on the baggage door section of the aircraft, halting baggage loading. All passengers were already seated and the plane was preparing for take-off, but the bee attack forced airport staff to stop the flight.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Smoke Used to Repel Bees</h2>



<p>Initially, traditional methods, including smoke, were used to repel the bees, but this proved ineffective. The airport administration then called the fire department. Firefighters used a high-pressure water spray to drive away the bees.</p>



<p>After an hour-long struggle, the bees were removed from the aircraft. The IndiGo flight finally took off at 5:26 PM. Passengers onboard were understandably distressed during this time, but breathed a sigh of relief once the plane was airborne.</p>

<p>This is reportedly the first incident of its kind at Surat International Airport. Such events are rarely seen at airports. The incident was shocking not only for the passengers but also for the airport administration. </p>

A significant increase in the number of mobile users in May has boosted their confidence that customers can now afford more expensive plans. <p>In May 2025, India added approximately 7.4 million new active mobile users, bringing the total number of active users to 108 crore (1.08 billion). Reliance Jio alone added 5.5 million users and Airtel added 1.3 million, strengthening their market share. BNP Paribas, in its report, stated that the rate of new customer acquisition will depend on the quality of 5G service. It is estimated that the telecom sector&#8217;s earnings will grow in double digits by 2027.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Moving Away from the ‘One-Size-Fits-All’ Model</h2>



<p>According to the report, this time the mobile tariff increase will not be limited to base plans only. The last increase in July 2024 saw an 11-23% rise in basic plans. This time, companies will target mid and high-range plan users to increase revenue without losing significant customers. Companies may now abandon the ‘one-size-fits-all’ model.</p>

<p>Experts believe that plans with different prices based on data speed, time slots, or data usage may be introduced. <p>He stated that he would fight the elections for the people of Bihar. At that gathering, he declared his intention to fight for &#8220;Bihar First&#8221; and &#8220;Bihari First&#8221;. However, he did not reiterate this statement later. </p>

Chirag also asserts that he is not afraid of anyone. This statement may be a veiled attack on Nitish Kumar, given Chirag&#8217;s consistent criticism of Bihar&#8217;s deteriorating law and order situation, a point of contention that led him to oppose the Bihar CM vehemently. In 2020, he used this issue to contest against the JD(U), fielding candidates on 135 seats. Although the LJP won only one seat, Chirag&#8217;s strategy of harming the JD(U) proved successful, as the JD(U) secured only 43 seats.</p>

<p>According to Ashak, Chirag&#8217;s shifting statements could be a strategy to pressure the NDA into allocating more seats. He also harbours ambitions of becoming Bihar&#8217;s Chief Minister. In this context, the BJP, RJD, and other parties point out that despite Chirag Paswan receiving ministerial recognition from the NDA at the Centre, his role in the Bihar government is negligible, a source of internal frustration for him.</p>

<p>The written examination for the recruitment of 19,838 constables in the Bihar Police will be held in six phases, starting from 16 July 2025 and ending on 3 August 2025. Admit cards for candidates appearing in this examination will be released online from 12 midnight on 9 July. Candidates can download their e-admit cards from the website <a href="csbc.bihar.gov.in">csbc.bihar.gov.in</a> using their registration ID, mobile number, or date of birth. However, today only admit cards for candidates appearing on 16 July will be released.</p>

<p>Bulldozer Action: Political temperatures are running high over the demolition drive underway in Delhi. Meanwhile, the Nayab Singh Saini government in Haryana has also become active in removing illegal encroachments. Under this, notices have been issued to numerous illegal religious sites in Gurugram. These notices state that those who constructed the illegal religious sites have seven days to remove the encroachments themselves; otherwise, the government will use bulldozers to demolish them. This action in Haryana is being taken under a Supreme Court order expressing strong objection to illegal constructions on public land across the country.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Political Upheaval Over Encroachment Action in Delhi</h2>



<p>Following a Supreme Court order, the Delhi government has taken strict action against illegal encroachments, clearing government land by deploying bulldozers in several places. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) launched a major political attack on the Delhi government. The AAP also staged a protest at Jantar Mantar in Delhi, warning the Delhi government to stop the bulldozer drive. Following this, bulldozer action against illegal encroachments began in Faridabad and Gurugram, bordering Delhi. Initially, the Forest Department used bulldozers to remove illegal encroachments in the Aravalli region.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Haryana Government Takes a Strong Stance Against Illegal Encroachments</h2>



<p>Following orders from the Haryana government, the Gurugram administration has sprung into action. Strict action will now be taken against all illegal religious sites constructed on public land after 29 September 2009. The Gurugram Municipal Corporation has launched a campaign in this regard and is issuing notices to such religious sites that are unauthorisedly constructed on green belts, parks, roads, lanes, pavements, or other public land.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Action Taken Pursuant to Supreme Court Order</h2>



<p>This action is being taken in compliance with the decision given by the Supreme Court on 29 September 2009 in the case of <i>Union of India vs. State of Gujarat &amp; Ors. (Special Appeal (Civil) No. 8519/2006)</i>. In this landmark judgment, the Supreme Court clearly stated that no new religious constructions can be permitted on any public land, and where illegal constructions have already taken place, the respective state government will be responsible for removing or relocating them.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Order Issued by Haryana&#8217;s Chief Secretary</h2>



<p>The Chief Secretary of the Haryana government has directed all municipal corporations and district administrations to strictly adhere to these instructions. Municipal corporation officials have been explicitly instructed to identify all religious sites constructed after the aforementioned date and those constructed without valid approval. A public notice has also been issued by the corporation and is being displayed in corporation offices and relevant areas.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Notice to Religious Site Operators to Remove Constructions Themselves</h2>



<p>The notice issued by the corporation advises religious site operators to remove the constructions themselves to avoid forceful action by the administration. If they fail to do so, the administration will demolish such constructions using bulldozers. Sites where no religious activities are taking place are planned for immediate removal. For sites where religious activities are ongoing, consultation with the state government will be sought for relocation.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Claim of Equal Action Across All Religions</h2>



<p>The Chief Secretary has also clarified that this action is not against any one religion or community but will be equally applicable to all religions. This includes temples, mosques, churches, gurudwaras, mazars, religious places, and other religious structures. Strict enforcement of the law will be ensured at all such sites. This move has created a stir in the city. Several religious site operators have confirmed receiving notices and have stated their intention to remove the constructions themselves, while some have requested more time from the administration. The coming days will show how transparently and sensitively the administration implements this action.</p>

<p>In Bihar, the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme is expected to benefit 7,612,642 farmers. However, farmers who haven&#8217;t yet completed their farmer registration and e-KYC may face setbacks. The central government has repeatedly urged farmers to complete these processes. Those who haven&#8217;t completed their e-KYC and registration for PM Kisan Samman Nidhi should do so immediately to avoid delays or missing out on benefits.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Which Blood Group has High Stroke Risk?</h2>



<p>The research indicates that individuals with blood group ‘A’ have a 16% higher chance of experiencing a stroke before the age of 60. Conversely, those with blood group ‘O’, the most common blood type globally, exhibit a 12% lower stroke risk. While individuals with blood groups ‘B’ and ‘AB’ may also face some risk, the probability is comparatively lower. In some populations, blood group ‘AB’ has also been identified as carrying a higher risk.</p>

<p>Scientists believe that individuals with blood group ‘A’ (Blood group A Stroke Risk) tend to have slightly higher levels of certain blood-clotting proteins, such as von Willebrand factor and factor VIII. These factors can increase the propensity for blood clot formation. These clots can obstruct blood flow to the brain, leading to ischemic stroke, the most common type (approximately 87% of cases are ischemic strokes).</p>



<p>Our blood group is determined by specific chemical substances on the surface of red blood cells, known as antigens. Even minor genetic variations in the structure of these antigens can impact our health. The association of the ABO gene with early-onset stroke further strengthens this observation.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Why is this Information Important?</h2>



<p>Approximately 15 million people worldwide suffer strokes annually, resulting in 5 million deaths and an equal number of permanent disabilities. Stroke is life-threatening, with potentially devastating consequences. Understanding the risk factors for stroke at a younger age is crucial for prevention and mitigation.</p>

DSSSB 2025: Applications Open for More Than 2000+ Jail Warder, PGT Posts in Delhi


<p><strong>DSSSB Vacancy 2025:</strong> A great opportunity has arisen for young people seeking employment. The Delhi Subordinate Services Selection Board (DSSSB) has commenced the recruitment process for a total of 2119 positions across various departments. These include prominent roles such as Jail Warder and PGT Teacher. Interested and eligible candidates can apply online from 8 July 2025 to 7 August 2025.
