<h2 class="wp-block-heading">JEE Main 2025 Exam Pattern</h2>



<p>The JEE Main exam pattern 2025 has been revised. Optional questions have been removed. The revised exam pattern states that there will be only 5 questions per subject in Section B, and candidates must attempt all 5 questions. There will be no option for selection in the JEE Main 2025 exam for Paper 1 (B.E./B.Tech), Paper 2A (B.Arch), and Paper 2B (B.Planning). The JEE Mains 2025 question paper will comprise 90 questions, i.e., 30 from each of Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. Candidates are required to attempt 75 out of 90 questions, with a separate marking scheme for MCQs and numerical questions.</p>

Sexual Harassment: Delhi University professor accused of harassing minor girl, suspended for six weeks


<p><strong>Sexual Harassment:</strong> A professor in the Commerce Department of Ramjas College, has been suspended from teaching duties for six weeks following allegations of sexual harassment of a minor student. Amidst growing protests, he has also resigned from his position as Joint Dean of Student Welfare at Delhi University (DU).</p>



<p>Speaking on the matter, Ramjas Principal Ajay Arora stated that the Internal Complaints Committee (ICC), an independent body in higher education institutions that addresses sexual harassment complaints, has begun investigating the case. Arora explained, “The faculty member has been placed under teaching suspension for the next 4-6 weeks while the ICC conducts its investigation. After the report is submitted, the governing body will decide on the punishment.” Arora also confirmed that the professor has resigned from his position as Joint Dean of Student Welfare at Delhi University (DU).</p>



<p>Although suspended from teaching, the accused Professor has not been barred from entering the campus. Protestors have warned of strong action if the Professor is allowed campus access during the investigation. Principal Arora said, “If the situation becomes tense, we will issue a formal notice to restrict his entry.” The incident came to light in December when the student filed a formal complaint with the Internal Complaints Committee (ICC).</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">DUSU and ABVP Protest</h2>



<p>However, due to the alleged inaction of the university administration, a six-hour sit-in protest led by the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) and the Delhi University Students&#8217; Union (DUSU) took place on Wednesday. Protestors shut down the offices of the Dean and Joint Dean of Student Welfare, demanding immediate action. </p>



<p>Clarifying the process, DU Registrar Dr. Vikas Gupta said, “The college has the autonomy to conduct the investigation and determine the punishment. The findings will then be sent to the Vice-Chancellor for approval to ensure due process is followed.”</p>



<p>The ICC, established under the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013, is currently investigating the matter. The committee comprises senior faculty members, non-faculty representatives, students, and a member from an NGO. The university administration has stressed that the investigation should proceed independently, free from external pressure. </p>

Fake call centers busted in MP: 130 youths detained in raids


<p>Raid on Call Centres: Ujjain police conducted raids on four advisory call centres, apprehending 130 young men and women, along with two operators. Six individuals were running the offices in partnership. These telecallers were defrauding people by opening demat accounts in their names under the guise of share investments. </p>



<p>Police arrested advisory operators Ajay Panwar and Shashi Malviya. Twelve others, including partners Chandan Bhadauria and Vinay Rathore, are absconding. Four police teams, in collaboration with the crime branch, raided Research Mart Limited (operating above Kuber Hotel), Stock Research and Bullish India, Money Magnet Research Limited (at A.K. Building Chowraha), Choice Broking Firm (in the Teen Batti area), and Angel One Limited (operating on Shankh Marg). All the accused were subsequently taken into custody.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">30% Commission</h2>



<p>Luring people with the promise of high profits in the share market, the telecallers used fraudulent apps to open demat accounts. These fraudulent accounts were managed to deceive investors, and in case of losses, the entire amount was appropriated. Even if investors used pre-existing demat accounts, a 30% commission was charged before investing in any share. This operation had been running in the city for a considerable time, surprisingly evading police attention until now.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">150 Mobiles, 25 Laptops</h2>



<p>Police seized 150 mobile phones, 25 laptops, fraudulent documents, Demat account details, and a list of investors&#8217; mobile numbers. No SEBI license was found on any of the accused. The police have also discovered evidence of transactions worth lakhs of rupees in the accounts.</p>

<p><strong>UP Police Radio Operator Recruitment 2022:</strong> The Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court has cancelled the recruitment process for UP Police Radio Operators. Following this court decision, the police department will now initiate a fresh recruitment process. The police department had advertised 936 radio operator positions in 2022. Around 40,000 candidates had applied for this recruitment examination.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">What did the Court Say? (Allahabad High Court)</h2>



<p>The Allahabad High Court, during the hearing, stated that the Police Recruitment and Promotion Board does not have the authority to alter the established standards for recruitment examinations. Changes to educational qualifications and other criteria can only be made at the government level. This decision was delivered by the single bench of Justice Alok Mathur.</p>



<p>In 2022, the Police Recruitment Board advertised 936 radio operator positions. The advertisement specified a diploma degree as the eligibility criterion. The then-chairperson of the recruitment board, Renuka Mishra, passed a proposal to also allow degree holders to apply. Subsequently, many degree holders applied. However, the current chairperson of the recruitment board, Rajiv Krishna, revoked the proposal allowing degree holders. Degree holders challenged this decision in the High Court.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">What Does a Radio Operator Do? </h2>



<p>The police department has various roles. One such role is that of a Radio Head Operator. <p><strong>HMPV Virus:</strong> HMPV is considered more dangerous for children. This was revealed after a study following the confirmation of Human Metapneumovirus (HMPV) cases in two children suffering from bronchopneumonia in Karnataka. A report by the Cleveland Clinic states that young children and those over 65 are also at higher risk.</p>



<p>Commenting on this, the Indian Ministry of Health stated that it is a globally spreading virus. Its impact is more visible in people with weak immunity. It can also be fatal for young people.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Adults over 65 years of age are at risk</h2>



<p>While children are at risk of HMPV, it can also affect adults over 5 years of age. Those with weakened immune systems are also susceptible. The report says that when someone contracts HMPV for the first time, it can make them seriously ill. The report also states that young children and adults over 65 are more susceptible to serious respiratory symptoms such as bronchiolitis and pneumonia.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">The government is closely monitoring the situation: J.P. Nadda</h2>



<p>Following the emergence of Human Metapneumovirus cases in India, Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda stated that the government is closely monitoring the situation and there is no cause for concern. He further stated that HMPV is not a new virus. J.P. Nadda further stated that it was first identified in 2001 and is spreading worldwide. He explained that HMPV spreads through the air via respiration.</p>



<p>Nadda urged people of all age groups to remain vigilant, stating that it can affect people of any age. Health officials reported on Monday that two more children in Karnataka, one infant in Gujarat, and two children in Tamil Nadu have been found infected with HMPV.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Symptoms </h2>



<p>Symptoms similar to a cold appear within 3 to 6 days of exposure to HMPV infection. However, in severe cases, this virus can cause complications such as bronchitis or pneumonia. Common symptoms may include cough, fever, nasal congestion, and difficulty breathing.</p>

<p>According to the schedule released by the Bihar Board, the class 12th board exams will be held from 1st February to 15th February 2025. The class 10th board exams will commence on 17th February and conclude on 25th February 2025. Remember, entry to the examination hall will not be permitted without the admit card.</p>

<p>The teaser of the song was released on social media yesterday. Jio Cinema shared the teaser of &#8216;Maaye&#8217; on Twitter and other social media platforms. The song is sung by B Praak and composed by Tanishk Bagchi. While both B Praak and Tanishk Bagchi were credited in the post, Manoj Muntashir was completely omitted.</p>

<p>It was further written by him that omitting the lyricist&#8217;s name from the initial credits was a display of gross disrespect towards the film. It was stated that the craft and fraternity had been wronged by the producers. A warning was issued that if this issue was not rectified immediately, including in the main song released the following day, the song would be disowned, and the matter would be pursued through the law. The act was described as shameful, with the message also directed at @IPRSmusic.</p>
