<p><strong>Bihar Assembly Elections:</strong> Bihar is set to hold Assembly elections later this year. Ahead of the elections, the Nitish government is announcing new schemes to attract voters. <p>Five people died and one was critically injured when an SUV plunged 600 feet into a gorge in Ramban district, Jammu and Kashmir. The accident occurred late Friday night near Senapati, Ukhrul Pogal Paristan area, reportedly due to the vehicle skidding, according to officials.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">One Person Found Dead at the Scene</h2>



<p>The deceased have been identified as Taukeer Ahmad (20), Mohammad Rafiq (40), Abdul Lateef (40), Ijaz Ahmad (20), and Shakil Ahmad (24). Yawar Ahmad (25) remains critically injured. Rescue teams found Taukeer Ahmad dead at the scene; the other five were taken to hospital.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Three Died en Route</h2>



<p>While being transported to the hospital, Mohammad Rafiq, Abdul Lateef, and Ijaz Ahmad succumbed to their injuries. Shakil Ahmad passed away in a Srinagar hospital this morning. Yawar Ahmad, the sole survivor, remains in critical condition.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Chief Minister Pledges Assistance</h2>



<p>Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, Union Minister Jitendra Singh, and Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha expressed their condolences. They assured all necessary assistance to the families of the five deceased and to Yawar Ahmad.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Ramban Deputy Commissioner Announces Financial Aid</h2>



<p>Ramban Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Alyas Khan announced ₹100,000 financial aid for each of the five families who lost loved ones in the accident. An additional ₹25,000 will be provided to the injured Yawar Ahmad. The Deputy Commissioner, in a post on his X account, stated that all possible assistance is being provided to the affected families.</p>

<p><strong>Delhi Building Collapse:</strong> A major incident occurred in Delhi, India&#8217;s capital, on Saturday morning. A four-storey building collapsed in the Welcome area of Delhi. Several people are trapped under the rubble. The building collapsed on Seelampur Eidgah Road in the Welcome area. <p><strong>Heavy Rain Alert:</strong> Monsoon rains are lashing across the country. Heavy rainfall has led to waterlogging in several states. The coming days will see intense rainfall. According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), heavy rain is likely for the next seven days. In view of this, the IMD has issued alerts for several states, including Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Uttarakhand, Gujarat, and Himachal Pradesh. There is a possibility of lightning in some areas during the rainfall.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Heavy Rainfall in Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, and Himachal Pradesh</h2>



<p>According to weather forecasts, heavy rainfall is expected in northwest India. Between 12 and 17 July, heavy rainfall is likely at some places in eastern Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, and Himachal Pradesh. Very heavy rainfall is expected in Jammu and Kashmir (14-17 July), western Uttar Pradesh (12-15 July), and eastern Uttar Pradesh (12 and 15 July).<br>Furthermore, very heavy rainfall is likely in western Rajasthan (12-16 July), eastern Rajasthan (12-15 July), and Uttarakhand (15 and 16 July). During the next 7 days, light/moderate rainfall with thunderstorms and lightning is likely at several places over the Western Himalayan region and plains.</p>

<p>According to the IMD, heavy rainfall may continue at some places in Madhya Pradesh between 12 and 17 July. Meanwhile, torrential rain is expected in Chhattisgarh (12-14 July), Jharkhand (12-15 July), sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim (13-16 July), and the Gangetic plains of West Bengal (14 July).<br>Very heavy rainfall is likely in Odisha (12-16 July) and Madhya Pradesh (15 and 16 July). Light/moderate rainfall is likely at several places in this region during the next 7 days.</p>

<p>According to the meteorological department, heavy rainfall is expected in Northeast India for the next seven days. <p>A preliminary investigation report has been released a month after the Ahmedabad Plane Crash. The Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) published a 15-page report on 12 July. According to the initial investigation, the crash occurred due to both engines of the plane shutting down.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">One Pilot Asked Another – Engine Shut Off?</h2>



<p>According to the investigation report, both engines failed one after the other immediately after takeoff. Cockpit recordings revealed that one pilot asked the other if he had shut off the engine. The response was, &#8220;I didn&#8217;t.&#8221; Shortly afterwards, the plane crashed into a medical college building. Over 280 people were killed, including 241 passengers and crew members. Only one person on board survived.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Fuel Supply Cut Off</h2>



<p>The initial investigation revealed that both engines failed in mid-air just seconds after takeoff. The fuel cut-off switches changed from RUN to CUTOFF within a second of each other. The fuel supply to the engines was cut off. Cockpit audio has also emerged, in which one pilot asked the other if he had shut off the engine. The other replied, &#8220;I didn&#8217;t.&#8221; Following this, the pilots attempted to restart the engines. One engine restarted, but the other could not be restarted.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">No Bird Strike Issue</h2>



<p>The report revealed that there were no issues with the fuel. The thrust levers were completely broken, but the black box showed that takeoff thrust was engaged at the time, indicating a disconnect. It should be noted that the thrust levers control the power of the aircraft&#8217;s engines. There was no evidence of a bird strike. The sky was clear, and both pilots were medically fit.</p>

<p>A retired army man shot a woman at Rohtak Railway Station in Haryana late on Friday evening. Following the shooting, the accused calmly started using his phone next to the injured woman. When a train arrived, he boarded it. After the commotion caused by onlookers, the Government Railway Police (GRP) arrived on the scene, arresting the accused and sending the injured woman to the hospital. The woman sustained a gunshot wound to her back. Initial police investigations suggest the woman and the accused knew each other and worked at different factories.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Panic on Platform Number 2</h2>



<p>Police reported that on Friday evening, the woman was waiting for a train on Platform Number 2 when the accused, reportedly intoxicated, arrived. He told nearby passengers to move, claiming he was going to fire a weapon. He then shot the woman in the back. The woman fell to the ground on the platform.</p>



<p>The gunshot caused immediate panic on the platform. GRP and Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel arrived at the scene. The man remained standing near the woman, even as police officers arrived. A Kurukṣetra-bound train arrived shortly after. The man boarded the train attempting to escape. However, onlookers raised the alarm, and with the assistance of fellow passengers, the accused was apprehended.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Accused Under the Influence</h2>



<p>The SHO (Station House Officer) of the GRP station, Jogender Singh, identified the injured woman as Pinki, a resident of Julāna, who works for a company in Hisar. The accused, Wazir Singh, is a retired army man from Lījwāna village. He was intoxicated at the time of the incident and has confessed to firing the weapon. SHO Jogender Singh stated that the motive for the shooting remains unclear and a statement will be taken from the woman once she regains consciousness.</p>

Bumrah on Criticism: &#39;As Long as I Wear the India Jersey, People Will Keep Judging Me&#39;


<p>Indian team&#8217;s star pacer Jasprit Bumrah, after taking a break from the Edgbaston Test, delivered a stellar performance at Lord&#8217;s, claiming a five-wicket haul. Due to workload management, Bumrah had clarified before the England tour that he would only play three out of the five Tests, a decision supported by head coach Gautam Gambhir. Even after a strong performance in the first Leeds Test, he opted for a seven-day break from the Edgbaston Test. His rest at Edgbaston drew considerable criticism from cricket experts. After his impressive performance on the second day at Lord&#8217;s, when Bumrah arrived for the press conference, he was asked the very question that made him react angrily.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Jasprit Bumrah&#8217;s Comments at the Press Conference</h2>



<p>During the press conference, Jasprit Bumrah was asked about the criticism he faced for not playing in the Edgbaston Test. Bumrah retorted sharply, &#8220;Everyone is making money off me, they should pray for me.&#8221; He added, &#8220;As long as I wear the Team India jersey, people will keep judging me. Even Sachin sir played 200 Tests, yet he was constantly judged.&#8221;</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Bumrah Restricts Hosts to 387</h2>



<p>Jasprit Bumrah also shone in the Lord&#8217;s Test. This is the first time Jasprit Bumrah has had his name inscribed on the Lord&#8217;s honours board. This was the 15th five-wicket haul of Bumrah&#8217;s Test career. Thanks to Bumrah&#8217;s performance, the Indian team managed to restrict the hosts, England, to 387 runs.</p>

<p><strong>JSSC ANM Recruitment 2025:</strong> Great news for women in Jharkhand seeking government jobs in the health department. The Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC) has announced a bumper recruitment drive for over 3100 Auxiliary Nurse Midwife (ANM) positions. This recruitment is especially for candidates who have completed their ANM training course after the 10th standard and wish to work in the government sector.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Eligibility Criteria</h2>



<p>Only women who have passed the 10th standard with at least 45% marks from a recognised board and have completed an 18-month ANM training course are eligible to apply. Additionally, the candidate&#8217;s name must be registered with the Jharkhand Nursing Council.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Age Limit and Relaxation</h2>



<p><strong>Minimum Age:</strong> 18 years</p>



<p><strong>Maximum Age (UR/EWS):</strong> 40 years</p>



<p>Relaxation in the upper age limit will be given to reserved category candidates as per the rules.</p>

<p>Selected female health workers will receive a salary according to Level-4, which will be between ₹5200 and ₹20200, along with a grade pay of ₹2400.</p>

<p>Selection will be based on a written examination, academic marks, technical qualifications, and contract experience. All qualifications will be considered valid as per the last date of application.</p>

<p>Judging by the trailer, the film promises to be action-packed, humorous, and full of Punjabi style, making it highly entertaining. The trailer begins with flashbacks to the original &#8216;Son Of Sardaar&#8217;, taking viewers back to Jassie&#8217;s chaotic and fun-filled world. Later in the trailer, English Bebe is seen pole dancing, only to suddenly fall. Meanwhile, Jassie encounters three ladies, to one of whom he delivers a humorous line: &#8220;You were just a woman before, but now you&#8217;re a woman, and a Pakistani one at that… you bomb our country, our country…&#8221; The funniest scene in the trailer is when Mrinal becomes a mother herself to get her friend married, making Jassie, aka Ajay Devgn, a father, and Sardarji, aka Jassie, starts narrating the story of the film &#8216;Border&#8217; to impress Ravi Kishan.</p>

<p>The film &#8216;Son Of Sardaar 2&#8217; is directed by Vijay Kumar Arora. Along with Ajay Devgn, it features many powerful actors such as Sanjay Mishra, Vindu Dara Singh, Dolly Ahluwalia, Neeru Bajwa, Chunky Pandey, Kubbra Sait, Deepak Dobriyal, Roshni Walia, Sharad Saxena, and Sahil Mehta.</p>

<p>This is a sequel to the 2012 hit film &#8216;Son Of Sardaar&#8217;, which starred Sonakshi Sinha in the lead role and Ajay Devgn as Jassie. Sanjay Dutt played the role of Billu Don in that film, and he reprises the same role in this sequel. The role originally written for Vijay Raj is now being played by Sanjay Mishra.</p>

<p><strong>Wiaan Mulder Reveals Conversation With Brian Lara:</strong> South Africa&#8217;s captain, Wiaan Mulder has remained in the spotlight following the Test series against Zimbabwe. Mulder scored an unbeaten 367 runs in the second Test against Zimbabwe in Bulawayo. He had a golden opportunity to break Brian Lara&#8217;s two-decade-old record for the highest individual score in Test cricket. However, he chose not to, opting instead to declare the innings.</p>



<p>By the end of the second day&#8217;s play, Mulder had reached 367 runs. He was just 33 runs short of Lara&#8217;s score achieved against England in Antigua in 2004. At that point, he declared the innings, leaving the record unbroken. Mulder later stated, &#8216;Firstly, I felt we had enough runs and should bowl. Secondly, Brian Lara is a legend. It&#8217;s fitting for someone of his stature to hold that record. If I had the chance again, I&#8217;d do exactly the same. I spoke to Shukri Conrad, and he felt the same way. Brian Lara is a legend and deserves to hold this record.&#8217;</p>



<p>He has now revealed that Lara called him and expressed regret that the record wasn&#8217;t broken. Mulder, speaking to SuperSport, said, “Brian Lara told me I should have gone for the record. That meant a lot to me. I was happy to hear that from him. He&#8217;s a legend of the game, and his 400 runs are still one of cricket&#8217;s greatest records. Things are a little better now, I felt relieved after speaking to Brian Lara. He told me to make my own name and that I should have gone after the record. He said records are meant to be broken and that he wants me to surpass what he did if I ever find myself in that situation again.”</p>



<p>Mulder added, &#8216;That was his point of view, but I still believe I did the right thing, and respecting the game is the most important part for me.&#8217; However, West Indies cricket legend Chris Gayle is far from pleased with Mulder&#8217;s decision, believing he made a significant mistake out of nervousness.</p>



<p>Gayle told &#8216;TalkSport&#8217;, “If I had the chance to score 400 runs, I would have gone for it. It doesn&#8217;t happen all the time. You don&#8217;t know when you&#8217;ll get another triple century. Whenever you get such an opportunity, you try to make the most of it. But Mulder was very generous in this matter. He said he wanted the record to remain with Brian Lara. Maybe he was nervous. He didn&#8217;t know what to do in that situation. Suppose you&#8217;re on 367; you have to take the risk of breaking the record. How else will you become a legend, because records come with being a legend.”</p>



<p>Gayle labelled the decision a mistake, stating, “I think it was a big mistake by Mulder that he didn&#8217;t try to break this record. We don&#8217;t know if he would have achieved it or not, but he declared the innings at a personal score of 367 and said what he had to say. But also consider that the opportunity to score 400 runs in a Test innings doesn&#8217;t come often in life. Young man, you missed it.”</p>



<p>Gayle concluded, “It doesn&#8217;t matter which opposing team it is. If you score 100 runs against any team, it&#8217;s a Test century. If you score 200, 300, or 400 runs, that&#8217;s Test cricket. It&#8217;s the best game. Mulder got nervous and made a mistake.”</p>

<p><strong>Rajasthan Good News:</strong> Research on the medicinal properties of camel milk will now be conducted in India. The Rajasthan and Gujarat governments are preparing to launch a new scheme in this direction. Although several organisations have conducted research on the medicinal properties of camel milk in the past, now research will be conducted at the government level to harness the multifaceted benefits of camel milk. Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah also announced this at the Sahakari Samvad programme held recently in Ahmedabad.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Improving Milk Prices for Camel Herders: The Scheme&#8217;s Objective</h2>



<p>In the Sahakari Samvad, Union Minister Amit Shah stated that the objective of the scheme is to fetch better prices for milk for camel herders. Meerabhen from Gujarat has involved 360 families in the camel milk business, resulting in good earnings. Emphasising the need for further research in this area, Shah said that three institutions have already started working in this direction. This scheme will not only open up economic opportunities for camel herders but will also contribute to strengthening the rural economy and conserving natural resources.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Several Changes in the Dairy Sector</h2>



<p>The government is bringing about changes in the dairy sector through several schemes. In the coming time, work will be done in cooperative dairies towards managing cow dung, managing the diet and health of animals, and increasing earnings from the use of cow dung. In co-operative dairies, cow dung will be used to make organic manure and gas. Out of 500 families working in milk production in the village, 400 families will be associated with the cooperative. Their animal dung work will also be given to the cooperative. In the next 6 months, all these schemes will take concrete shape and reach the cooperative institutions.</p>

<p>Heavy rainfall is expected in Bihar from 16 July onwards. According to the Meteorological Department, most parts of North Bihar will experience rainfall, more so than South Bihar. Over the next 24 hours, cloudy conditions are expected in 19 districts, including the capital city, with a possibility of thunderstorms and sporadic rainfall. No significant change in maximum temperature is anticipated over the next five days.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Cloudy Conditions Expected in Patna Today</h2>



<p>The Meteorological Department predicts cloudy skies for Patna on Friday, with a possibility of thunderstorms and rainfall in a few areas. Intermittent rainfall has been reported across various parts of Patna since Wednesday night. Due to the intermittent rainfall over the past two days, Patna has witnessed a decrease of 2.3°C in minimum temperature and 2.9°C in maximum temperature. The minimum temperature recorded in Patna was 25.9°C and the maximum temperature was 31°C. Approximately 6 millimetres of rainfall was recorded in the last 24 hours.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Rainfall 52 Per cent Below Normal</h2>



<p>The monsoon arrived in Bihar on 17 June. While most parts of the state received rainfall initially, it gradually decreased. For the past week, many districts have experienced almost no rainfall. According to the Meteorological Department, Bihar has received 52 percent less rainfall than normal until Thursday. The state should have received 275.1 millimetres of rainfall, but only 133.2 millimetres have been recorded so far.</p>

<p><strong>Rampur News Today:</strong> A heart-wrenching accident occurred in the Ganj police station area of Rampur on Friday when a kite string entangled in a high-tension power line claimed the life of a motorbike rider. The incident happened when 42-year-old Ramchandra, a resident of Dungarpur village, was going to Johar Hospital with his wife Asha to visit a sick relative. Ramchandra died while trying to remove the kite string, while his wife sustained severe burns.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Accident on Degree College Road</h2>



<p>As Ramchandra and his wife Asha were passing near GRPG College on their motorbike, they noticed a kite string hanging across the road. Ramchandra attempted to remove the string, but it was entangled in a high-tension wire. As he touched the string, he was electrocuted.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Asha also burnt while trying to save her husband</h2>



<p>Seeing her husband electrocuted, Asha rushed to save him, but she too was burnt by the electric current. People present at the scene used sticks to separate the couple from the wire. However, Ramchandra had already lost consciousness. He was rushed to the district hospital, where doctors declared him dead. Asha&#8217;s hand was severely burnt, and she is undergoing treatment.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Kite flyers&#8217; negligence claims a life</h2>



<p>According to locals, some young men add thin iron wires to kite strings to make them stronger. This wire got entangled in the high-tension line, causing the accident. Upon receiving information about the incident, the electricity department team arrived at the scene and removed the string.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Locals demand strict action</h2>



<p>There is widespread anger among the locals over this incident. They say this is not the first such incident; several accidents have occurred due to kite strings before. They have demanded strict action against the negligent kite flyers and appealed to the administration to strictly prohibit this practice.</p>
