
<p>Jaipur Weather Update: The rainfall in Jaipur slowed down on Sunday. There was light rain in the morning. After that, there was a mix of cloudy skies and sunshine throughout the day.</p>



<p>According to the meteorological centre, the spell of rain in the city has stopped and is expected to remain so for the coming days. Furthermore, Jaipur has received 102% more rainfall than usual. According to the Water Resources Department, the normal rainfall in Jaipur is 511.93 millimetres. From June 1st to date, the normal rainfall is 189.29 mm, while 383.09 mm of rainfall has been recorded. This means that 102.38% more rain than usual has fallen.</p>

<p>The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for 5 districts today, forecasting the possibility of thunderstorms and lightning in Banswara, Chittorgarh, Dungarpur, Pratapgarh, and Udaipur.</p>

<p>A yellow alert has been issued for heavy rain in Alwar, Baran, and Jhalawar tomorrow, along with thunderstorms and lightning in Bharatpur, Bundi, Dausa, and Kota.</p>

<p>The Meteorological Department says that rainfall activity will decrease over the next 6-7 days. After that, a new system will become active around July 27-28, leading to another spell of heavy to very heavy rainfall.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Rain Expected in Baran </h2>



<p>In Baran city, sunshine prevailed from Sunday morning, although there was also some movement of light clouds. The maximum temperature rose by one degree to 34 degrees. The minimum temperature also increased by one degree to 28 degrees, leading to a feeling of humidity. </p>



<p>According to the Meteorological Department, the forecast for the district is partly cloudy with light rain on Monday and Tuesday, cloudy with light rain on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, and normal rainfall on Saturday and Sunday.</p>

<p>Panic ensued on the Jammu Tawi Express (train number 19223) this morning when smoke suddenly emerged from its B-1 coach. The incident occurred between the Bathinda-Goniana rail section, as the train departed towards Firozpur at 7:45 AM. The sight of smoke instilled fear among passengers, leading several to jump off the train to save themselves.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Panic Erupts on Sight of Smoke</h2>



<p>According to eyewitnesses, the sight of smoke billowing from the train&#8217;s coach triggered a stampede among passengers. Upon receiving information, railway staff and officials immediately arrived on the scene and attempted to control the situation. A technical investigation revealed that the smoke resulted from a brake binding issue. Railway staff rectified the technical fault after approximately half an hour&#8217;s effort, after which the train was dispatched to Firozpur.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">No Casualties Reported</h2>



<p>No casualties have been reported during the incident, however, passengers have demanded that the railway administration conduct regular checks of trains and strengthen safety measures. Railway officials stated that trains undergo periodic checks to prevent such incidents, and a thorough investigation into this matter will be conducted to prevent similar situations in the future.</p>

<p>The Bombay High Court has acquitted all 12 convicts in the 2006 Mumbai serial train bombings, citing a lack of evidence. The court on Monday overturned the death sentences of five convicts and dismissed the Maharashtra government&#8217;s appeal seeking confirmation of the sentences.</p>



<p>On 11 July 2006, seven serial blasts ripped through crowded Mumbai local trains, killing 189 people and injuring over 800. RDX was used in the explosions, and the Indian Mujahideen was blamed for the attacks.</p>



<p>In 2015, a special TADA court convicted 12 out of 15 accused. Five received the death penalty, and seven were given life imprisonment. However, the Bombay High Court overturned the lower court&#8217;s decision, acquitting all and ordering their release from prison.</p>



<p>The court was not satisfied with the evidence and testimonies presented by the prosecution, leading to the acquittal of all 12 convicts. The bench of Justices Anil Kilore and S. Chandak stated that the prosecution&#8217;s evidence lacked a solid foundation. The accused, who were held in Yerwada, Nasik, Amravati, and Nagpur jails in Maharashtra, were presented in court via video conferencing.</p>

<p>A major Goods and Services Tax (GST) fraud case has come to light in India, involving 3,558 fake companies that caused losses exceeding ₹15,851 crore (approximately £1.5 billion) to the government. This was revealed in an investigation conducted by GST officials during the first quarter (April-June 2025) of the current financial year. These companies perpetrated the scam through fraudulent Input Tax Credit (ITC) claims.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">How the Fraud Occurred?</h2>



<p>The GST system allows companies to claim tax paid on raw material purchases as ITC. The fraudulent companies misused this provision by creating fake invoices without any actual transactions and obtained refunds of thousands of crores of rupees through ITC. According to officials, this scam is 29% higher than last year, when 3,840 companies committed fraud worth ₹12,304 crore in the first quarter.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Action Taken</h2>



<p>GST officials have so far arrested 53 people in this case and recovered ₹659 crore. However, this amount is significantly less than the total loss. The fact that over 25,000 fake companies were involved in a ₹61,545 crore scam during the previous financial year highlights the seriousness of the problem.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Government&#8217;s Challenge</h2>



<p>Officials say that the number of fake companies is constantly increasing. The government has taken several steps to curb this, but much work remains to be done. Special drives are being conducted to prevent GST fraud, such as the one launched in May-June 2023, which uncovered a ₹30,000 crore scam across 16 states.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Expert Advice</h2>



<p>Experts believe that technological improvements in the GST system, stricter monitoring, and the use of data analytics can curb such fraud. The government plans to further strengthen digital tracking and Aadhaar-PAN based verification to prevent such scams in the future.</p>

<p><strong>Rajasthan Roadways</strong>: Devotees visiting Khatu Shyam Ji have reason to rejoice. Alwar Depot of Rajasthan Roadways has started a special bus service to cater to the needs of pilgrims. This service operates every Saturday, Sunday, and on Ekadashi.</p>

<p>MP News: Vidisha district in Madhya Pradesh has received a significant boost with the approval of 11 Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) projects. A total of ₹724.9 crore has been sanctioned for these projects. </p>



<p>According to Geeta Raghuvanshi, the Zila Panchayat President, a proposal for the construction of these roads was earlier sent to the Member of Parliament and the Union Agriculture Minister, Shivraj Singh Chouhan. The funds have been approved based on his recommendation.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Roads to be constructed in these villages</h2>



<p>The approval of 11 PMGSY roads will benefit over a dozen villages in the district. The sanctioned amount will be used for road construction on the following routes: Panjh to Kirmachi Rusalli, Main Road to Rasoolpur, Kaal Bhairav Mandir to Awas Basti, Dholkhedi to Hinautiya, Lashkarpur Road to Jamaldi, Bhairokhedi Road to Piparhunta Basti, Sherpur Kasba Road to Umarakhedi, Khejda Sultan Road to Awas Basti, Karariya Lashkarpur Road to Jhadaun Basti, Muhana to Awas Basti Muhana, Kashiram Khejda to Mudrakheda, and Adarsh College to Nimkhiria Karar Tapra. These are currently unpaved roads.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Repair of cremation grounds</h2>



<p>Geeta Raghuvanshi, the Zila Panchayat President, stated that the road construction process will begin soon after receiving approval from the Zila Panchayat&#8217;s general meeting. </p>



<p>The construction of these roads will provide significant relief to villagers, especially school children. Furthermore, she mentioned that the condition of cremation grounds across urban and rural areas will be assessed using geo-tagging to identify those requiring repairs. </p>



<p>She has instructed all Gram Panchayats to utilise funds from the 15th Finance Commission and the State Finance Commission to repair existing platforms and tin sheds in cremation grounds and to construct new temporary structures.</p>

Local villagers and fishermen immediately launched a rescue operation, but it was too late. The bodies of all four were recovered within approximately 30 minutes. The deceased have been identified as Junaid Kazi, Jainab Kazi, Uzma Sheikh, and Umera Sheikh, all residents of Mumbra, Thane.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Warning Already in Place</h2>



<p>The local administration had already issued a &#8220;No Swimming&#8221; warning at Are-Ware beach, as strong waves and dangerous currents are common during the monsoon season. However, the tourists ignored this warning, resulting in this tragic incident. Upon receiving information about the accident, Senior Inspector Rajendra Yadav of Ratnagiri Police Station, along with his team, reached the scene, conducted a panchnama (official report), and initiated a preliminary investigation.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Demand for Deployment of Guards</h2>



<p>Locals have demanded that the administration deploy guards at sensitive coastal areas like Are-Ware during the monsoon season and impose restrictions on tourists. They also stated that such accidents occur due to negligence in the allure of natural beauty. The administration has appealed to people to follow weather department warnings and strictly adhere to safety guidelines in coastal areas.</p>

<p><strong>Sambhar Salt Lake:</strong> India&#8217;s first high-speed railway trial track, under construction on the Jaipur-Jodhpur rail route, appears to be stuck in bureaucratic red tape. Even after three years, the railway authorities have not received permission to lay 2.5 km of track in the Sambhar Lake area. This makes it difficult for the project to commence on schedule, inevitably increasing both time and cost for the railways. Furthermore, the trial of bullet trains in Rajasthan is also facing uncertainty.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">80% Complete, Yet Challenges Remain</h2>



<p>In 2019-20, the railways announced a budget for a 64 km long high-speed (200 km/h) trial track on the Jaipur-Jodhpur rail route, with work commencing in 2020. More than 80% of the work is now complete. According to railway officials, this track is proposed to run from Gudha near Nawal to Meethri, alongside Sambhar Lake. However, a 2.5 km section through the Sambhar Lake wetland area is stalled due to a lack of clearance from the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change.</p>



<p>Numerous proposals have been sent to the state government and the ministry over the past three years, but objections have been raised each time. According to railway officials, several technical works are also stalled due to the delay in the lake area. The track cannot be operational until this section is completed. The target is to commission it by December, but this seems unlikely.</p>

<p>The state government&#8217;s State Wetland Authority argues that Sambhar Lake is an internationally recognised Ramsar site, where new construction is restricted. However, the railways contend that several rail tracks for salt transportation and the main Jaipur-Jodhpur railway line already exist in the lake area. Therefore, obstructing a mere 2.5 km track is incomprehensible. The railways are now preparing to communicate with the state government again to secure approval.</p>

<p>According to railway officials, similar tracks are used for high-speed trials in countries like China, the USA, and Australia. In India, testing new trains or wagons requires halting traffic. The commissioning of this track will not only facilitate trials of new engines and coaches but will also allow for future testing of bullet train coaches. This could be a game-changer for the railways, enabling trials at speeds of 200 km/h.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Experts Warn: Delays Will Have Serious Consequences</h2>



<p>Environmental and forestry experts believe that this is a nationally important project and that delays in approval should not occur, given the pre-existing tracks. They argue that this obstruction could jeopardise crores of rupees in investment and years of effort.</p>

<p><strong>Education Department Order:</strong> Important news has emerged for parents in Madhya Pradesh who send their children to private schools. The state government has revoked the recognition of 250 private schools across the state. This includes 12 schools in the capital city of Bhopal.</p>



<p>It is reported that the recognition was revoked because these schools lacked land documents. Some school operators did not possess sufficient land as per school standards, while others lacked necessary registration papers. This led to the department taking action.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">50 Schools Still Awaiting Decision</h2>



<p>The recognition process for schools offering classes 9th to 12th in the state involves an initial application to the Divisional Joint Director. If approval is not received, a second appeal is made to the Departmental Minister. 350 private schools&#8217; recognition cases reached the Departmental Minister. Of these, only 50 schools received recognition, while the recognition of another 50 schools has been put on hold. However, the recognition of 250 private schools has been revoked. This includes 12 schools in Bhopal, among which prominent names are Ankur Higher Secondary, Seven Hills, Preeti Higher Secondary, Rajapushpa, Parth, and Gyan Krishna School.</p>
