<p><strong>Eid Holiday:</strong> Haryana government employees will not receive a holiday for Eid this year. The BJP government, led by Deputy Chief Minister (Nayab Singh Saini), has issued a notification cancelling the Eid holiday. This decision has sparked debate in the state. The government&#8217;s latest order removes Eid from the list of gazetted holidays, declaring it a Restricted Holiday (RH). This means the holiday is optional, and government offices will function as usual.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Work on March 31st</h2>



<p>According to the new notification, the government&#8217;s rationale is that Eid falls on March 31st, a Monday. This follows a weekend (Saturday, March 29th, and Sunday, March 30th). Furthermore, March 31st is the last day of the financial year 2024-25, known as the Financial Year Closing Day. Government departments need to complete accounting and financial tasks on this day. The government claims this decision to cancel the Eid holiday was made considering these circumstances.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Pre-existing Leave on March 29th and 30th</h2>



<p>The notification clearly states, “Due to the weekend, Saturday and Sunday (March 29th and 30th) will be holidays. This decision has been taken because March 31st (Monday) is the closing day of the financial year.” Under this order, the Eid holiday has been converted into a Restricted Holiday, meaning employees are free to take it, but it will not be mandatory for everyone.</p>

<p><strong>Odisha Train Accident:</strong> A major train accident occurred in Odisha on Sunday. Eleven coaches of the Kamakhya Express, running between Delhi and Assam, derailed. This incident caused panic among the passengers. The incident took place in the Khurda division of the East Coast Railway. NDRF and medical teams are engaged in rescue operations. The derailment occurred at 11:54 AM. NDRF and SDRF teams have provided first aid to passengers of the 12551 Bangalore-Kamakhya AC Superfast Express.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">One Dead, Eight Hospitalised</h2>



<p>One person died and several others were injured when 11 coaches of the Bengaluru-Kamakhya Superfast Express derailed near Nergudi station in Cuttack, Odisha. Cuttack District Collector, Dattatreya Bhausaheb Shinde, stated that the deceased passenger was from Alipurduar, West Bengal. Eight others have been admitted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack for treatment.</p>

<p>Confirming the accident, railway officials stated that the incident occurred near the Cuttack-Nergudi railway section in the Khurda Road division of the East Coast Railway. At the time of the accident, the SMVT Bengaluru – Kamakhya AC Superfast Express (12551) was travelling from Bengaluru to Guwahati.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Several Passengers Jumped from Train</h2>



<p>Coaches B-6 to B-14 derailed in this accident. The train coaches derailed and fell into nearby jungles and fields. Panic ensued among the passengers following the incident, with many jumping from the train. Upon receiving information about the accident, the railway cancelled other trains running on this line.</p>

<p><strong>MP Weather:</strong> Fluctuations in weather continue. Due to the effect of a Western Disturbance and increased wind speed, Jabalpur saw a drop in daytime temperatures on Saturday. The maximum temperature was 35 degrees Celsius, the first time it fell below 38 degrees in the last three days. Night-time temperatures also dropped by more than two degrees. </p>



<p>According to the Meteorological Department, a further drop of 1-2 degrees in temperature is possible in the next 24 hours in Jabalpur and other districts of the division. However, due to the activities of the Western Disturbance on April 1st, there is a possibility of rain (Rain Alert) in the division. There is also a forecast of hail (Hailstorm) in Khandwa, Burhanpur, and Harda.</p>



<p>Continuous Temperature Fluctuations – On Wednesday, the maximum temperature in the city was 38 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature was 16.9 degrees Celsius. On Thursday, these were recorded as 39.5 degrees and 18 degrees respectively. On Friday, the maximum temperature dropped to 38.3 degrees. The minimum night temperature increased to 19.5 degrees. On Saturday, the maximum daytime temperature fell again, recording 35 degrees, one degree below normal. The minimum temperature also dropped considerably, reaching 17.4 degrees.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Western Disturbance May Disrupt Weather</h2>



<p>According to the Meteorological Department, the weather may deteriorate from April 1st due to the Western Disturbance. The system is currently active over Afghanistan and is moving forward. Its impact may continue the trend of falling temperatures. From April 1st, this system may affect Jabalpur and other districts of the division. This may lead to drizzle or light rain. There is also a possibility of hail in Khandwa, Burhanpur, and Harda.</p>


<p>MP Weather: According to the meteorological department, the temperature in Jabalpur and other districts of the division may fall by another 1-2 degrees in the next 24 hours. However, rain is likely in the division on April 1 due to the activities of a western disturbance.</p>

The cricketing icon was found dead in his villa in Thailand in March 2022, with the official cause of death attributed to a heart attack by the police. However, a new twist has surfaced.</p>



<p>According to a report in the <i>Daily Mail</i>, a bottle of the drug Kamagra was removed from Warne&#8217;s villa after his death. A police officer involved in the investigation revealed this, stating that they were instructed to conceal this fact. Kamagra is a sexual enhancement drug used to treat erectile dysfunction, containing sildenafil citrate, similar to Viagra. This medication can be dangerous for individuals with pre-existing heart conditions.</p>



<p>A Thai police officer disclosed, “Our senior officers ordered us to remove the bottle. These instructions came from above. I believe senior Australian officials were also involved, as they did not want their national hero&#8217;s end to be revealed in this way.” The officer also mentioned the presence of vomit and bloodstains at the scene, making it difficult to determine the exact amount of Kamagra Warne consumed before his death.</p>



<p>These new revelations raise serious questions about whether crucial evidence was deliberately concealed to protect Shane Warne&#8217;s legacy. The post-mortem report attributed his death to natural causes, specifically a heart attack. However, the recent disclosures have created a sensation, suggesting that Kamagra consumption may have contributed to the heart attack.</p>

<p><strong>March Closing:</strong> The last date for paying property tax is 31 March. Despite Sunday and Monday being holidays, counters in all zones of the Municipal Corporation remained open. People can deposit property tax from 10 am to 5 pm. The corporation administration will recover 17% surcharge from those who do not pay property tax by the last date, 31 March.</p>



<p>The Municipal Corporation&#8217;s revenue department is engaged in collecting property tax. This year&#8217;s target is ₹300 crore. More than ₹2.25 crore has already been collected. It is estimated that ₹60 to ₹70 crore will be collected by the last date, 31 March. Even though 30 March is Navratri Pratipada and 31 March is declared an Eid holiday, the counters will remain open. According to corporation officials, from 1 April 2025, a campaign will be launched to recover revenue including a 17% surcharge. Therefore, the city&#8217;s residents have been urged to make full payment of property tax immediately.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Office Attendance Mandatory for Officials and Employees</h2>



<p>State GST offices will remain open on Sunday and Monday, the last days of the financial year, even after the government holiday for Eid. For this, the State GST Commissioner has issued orders to the Joint Commissioners of the State Tax Department in all divisions. It has been stated that the Ministry of Finance, Government of India, has stated in a circular that CGST offices will remain open on 29, 30 and 31 March and normal work will be carried out. Officers and employees working in all divisional and subordinate circle offices under the State Tax (GST) Department will be required to be present mandatorily.</p>



<p>It may be noted that the State GST is running a one-time settlement scheme for the resolution of cases related to VAT. Under this, the resolution of old pending cases of VAT is to be done by 31 March. This includes a provision for exemption from interest and penalty on lump-sum payment of outstanding VAT amount. After the stipulated period, no exemption from interest and penalty will be given on depositing the outstanding amount.</p>

<p><strong>Rajasthan News:</strong> Visiting Ranthambore National Park is about to get more expensive. The Forest Department is planning to increase park entry fees by approximately 10 percent. According to reports, the new rates will come into effect from the morning shift on 1 April.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Park Entry Fees Increased Annually Since 2016</h2>



<p>It is noteworthy that park entry fees have been increased every year since 2016. However, the Forest Department only increases the entry fee by ten percent, not the entire amount. Therefore, an increase of ₹50 to ₹100 per person is expected for jeep and canter safaris.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Current Park Entry Fees</h2>



<p>According to information received from the Forest Department, currently, Indian tourists pay ₹889 and foreign tourists pay ₹2294 for a canter safari. For jeep safaris, ₹1470 is charged for Indian tourists and ₹2790 for foreign tourists.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Annual Fee Increases Met with Opposition</h2>



<p>Those involved in the tourism industry in Ranthambore are opposing the Forest Department&#8217;s policy of increasing park entry fees annually. They argue that Ranthambore&#8217;s entry fees are already high, and further increases are inappropriate, placing an unnecessary financial burden on tourists. They also fear that repeated price hikes could divert tourists to tiger reserves in other states.</p>

<p><strong>MP News:</strong> The Bhopal Development Authority (BDA) has been designated as the nodal agency for the Bhopal Metropolitan Region (BMR) to develop Bhopal on the lines of a greater capital. The same responsibility has been assigned to the Indore Development Authority (IDA) in Indore. The Bhopal Metropolitan Region includes Bhopal, Vidisha, Sehore, Raisen, Narmadapuram, and Rajgarh.</p>



<p>According to Sanjay Shukla, Principal Secretary, Urban Housing and Development, the BDA will appoint consultants to formulate the upcoming plan. This will proceed after approval from senior officials.</p>

<p>Rishabh Pant&#8217;s Highest Score in IPL 2025: Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad by 5 wickets in the 7th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. The LSG captain won the toss and opted to bowl first. This decision drew criticism on social media, but Pant had other plans. Shardul Thakur, unsold in the IPL 2025 mega auction, struck twice in his second over, setting the tone for Lucknow&#8217;s victory. While Thakur provided the early breakthroughs, Nicholas Pooran&#8217;s efforts couldn&#8217;t quite compensate, and the 27 crore player&#8217;s bat remained largely silent.</p>



<p>Lucknow Super Giants acquired Rishabh Pant for a staggering 27 crore in the IPL 2025 mega auction, the highest bid in IPL history. Questions arose about whether Pant was truly worth this price. In the first two matches of IPL 2025, Pant&#8217;s batting was underwhelming. Despite playing on pitches conducive to batting, the Lucknow captain managed only 15 runs across both matches. He was dismissed for a duck in the first match and scored 15 runs off 15 balls in the second. At the Rajiv Gandhi Stadium, where most batsmen had strike rates exceeding 200, Pant&#8217;s strike rate barely reached 100.</p>



<p>This raised further questions about LSG&#8217;s decision to buy Pant for 27 crore. The cost per run for Pant has become exorbitant, at a whopping 1 crore 80 lakh. Although Lucknow won against Hyderabad, Pant&#8217;s captaincy lacked impact, and his batting failed to deliver. Against Hyderabad, Pant attempted a response with a massive six, but was soon dismissed, leaving his team in a precarious position.</p>

<p>After the match, Pant said, “It’s a big relief, but as a team, we talk about the process. It’s not about getting too excited when you win and too disappointed when you lose. As a team, we can’t focus on things we can’t control, my mentor said focus on things you can control and I did that. It was good to see the way Prince bowled and Thakur also bowled really well. We haven’t played our best cricket yet, but happy to get the win.”</p>

<p>The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released the schedule for the Combined Defence Services Examination (CDS 1) 2025. Candidates can view and download the examination schedule in PDF format by visiting the official website upsc.gov.in. According to the UPSC notification, the CDS 1 examination 2025 will be held on 13 April (Sunday). This examination will be held in three shifts.</p>

<p>A total of 457 posts will be filled through this examination. This includes 100 posts for the Indian Military Academy (IMA), 32 posts for the Indian Naval Academy (INA), 32 posts for the Air Force Academy (AFA), 275 posts for the Officers Training Academy (OTA) Men, and 18 posts for the Officers Training Academy (OTA) Women.</p>

Chhattisgarh: Great news for NEET, JEE aspirants! Collector launches free coaching


<p>The Chhattisgarh government has extended a helping hand to young people dreaming of becoming doctors and engineers. Meritorious students will receive free coaching from the district administration. Collector Abhinash Mishra has launched the Umang Abhiyan for meritorious students of the district taking the NEET and JEE examinations. Under this campaign, 100 students will be provided high-level free coaching for the NEET and JEE examinations.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">NEET Exam: Classes to Commence on 28th</h2>



<p>Under this campaign, free coaching for students will commence on March 28th at the Mennonite Hindi Medium School. While launching this campaign today, Collector Mishra and the CEO of the Zila Panchayat, Roma Shrivastava, encouraged the district&#8217;s students. In a motivational session held at the local Hardiha Sahu Samaj building, the Collector gave tips on study methods and success to students appearing for the JEE and NEET examinations.</p>



<p>The Collector told the students that success can only be achieved through self-belief and hard work. He advised students to solve the previous three years&#8217; question papers of competitive examinations, take as many mock tests as possible, and improve their strongest topics/subjects. During this time, both officials also shared their experiences from their student lives. Parents of the students were also present at the motivational session and resolved their doubts and queries regarding their children&#8217;s studies and careers.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Hard Work Never Fails</h2>



<p>The CEO of the Zila Panchayat, Roma Shrivastava (रोमा श्रीवास्तव), urged students to believe in themselves and compete with themselves every day. She said that success can only be achieved through a good study environment and competitive preparation. Those who work hard with a high goal never fail. She also advised all the students to study diligently. During this time, Dr. Sagar Sahu (डॉ.सागर साहू) and Dr. Nidhi Dhruv (डॉ. निधि ध्रुव) also guided the students and their parents present.</p>



<p>The District Education Officer, Jagdal (जगदल्ले), informed that under Collector Mishra&#8217;s initiative, a campaign is being launched to provide free coaching to one hundred meritorious students of Dhamtari district preparing for JEE and NEET. Under this Umang Abhiyan (उमंग अभियान), students will be given refresher coaching for the upcoming examinations. This coaching will be both residential and non-residential.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">NEET Exam on 4th May</h2>



<p>Jagdal (जगदल्ले) informed that keeping in mind the upcoming NEET examination on May 4th, this coaching is starting from March 28th at the Mennonite Hindi Medium School in Dhamtari city. Meritorious students from government and non-government higher secondary schools across the district have been selected for this free coaching. He informed that counselling for the students and their parents has also been conducted in the presence of the Collector and the Zila Panchayat CEO.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Class Timings</h2>



<p>Coaching classes will run daily from 9:30 AM to 5:00 PM. There will be a lunch break during this time. There will be four sessions of one and a half hours each per day. Study material will also be provided to the students. Students&#8217; preparations will be tested daily through mock tests. Subject experts will also resolve students&#8217; doubts regarding the subject in the classes. Methods of solving more questions in less time will also be taught.</p>

First, biometric registration and verification of candidates will take place, followed by a race. Men will have to run 1600 meters in 6 minutes, and women will have to run 800 meters in 5 minutes. Document verification will be conducted for candidates who pass the physical test. The final stage will be a medical test. The selection of Home Guards will be done by the District Home Guard Selection Committee constituted under the chairmanship of the District Magistrate.</p>
