
<p>Punjab Police’s Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF) has thwarted a major terror plot on the India-Pakistan border in Punjab, recovering a significant cache of weapons and ammunition. The operation seized two AK-47 rifles, hand grenades, and other explosive materials, intended for a terror attack in India by Khalistani terrorist Harwinder Singh, alias Rinda, and Pakistan’s intelligence agency, the ISI.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Weapons Smuggled via Drone</h2>



<p>This recovery was made during an intelligence-based operation in the forests of the Gurdaspur’s Purana Shala police station area. Police received information that a consignment of weapons had been sent from Pakistan via drone, intended for terrorists of the Khalistani organisation Babbar Khalsa International (BKI). The AGTF swiftly acted, seizing the consignment and foiling the terror plot.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">AK-47 Rifles and Other Weapons Seized</h2>



<p>Police reported that the recovered weapons included two AK-47 rifles, 16 live cartridges, grenades, and other explosives. A case has been registered under the Explosives Act and Arms Act, and an investigation has begun. This is not the first instance of an attempt to smuggle weapons across the India-Pakistan border via drone. Recently, on 3 July, an AK-47 rifle and 37 live cartridges were recovered in Firozpur, also believed to have been sent across the border via drone.</p>

Gujarat Gambhira bridge collapse: 2 dead, multiple vehicles plunge into river


<p><strong>Gujarat Bridge Collapse:</strong> A bridge connecting Vadodara and Anand districts in Gujarat collapsed suddenly this morning, 9 July, causing several vehicles to plunge into the Mahisagar River. Nine deaths have been confirmed, while three people have been rescued. Local administration and police have launched immediate relief and rescue operations.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Details of the Accident</h2>



<p>The incident occurred around 8 am when the old bridge connecting central Gujarat and Saurashtra suddenly broke in the middle. According to eyewitnesses, several vehicles were crossing the bridge at the time, including two trucks, a tanker, and a van. Four of these vehicles fell into the river. A tanker was left hanging precariously on the broken section of the bridge, causing panic among onlookers.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Rescue Operations and Situation</h2>



<p>Following the incident, local police, fire department, and National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) teams arrived at the scene. Three people have been rescued from the river so far, but fears remain that several others may be trapped. Rescue operations are underway, with locals also assisting.</p>

<p>The Gambhira Bridge was a crucial route connecting central Gujarat to Saurashtra and the districts of Anand, Vadodara, Bharuch, and Ankleshwar. <p>Heavy monsoon rains have disrupted life in many parts of the country. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued warnings of heavy to very heavy rainfall in several states, advising the closure of schools and colleges and urging people to remain vigilant.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Red Alerts in These States</h2>



<p><strong>Uttarakhand:</strong> A red alert has been issued in several districts, including Dehradun, Haridwar, Nainital, and Chamoli. Schools have been closed due to the risk of landslides and overflowing rivers.</p>



<p><strong>Himachal Pradesh:</strong> Heavy rain and landslides are expected in districts like Kangra, Mandi, Sirmour, and Solan. Schools and Anganwadi centres are closed.</p>



<p><strong>Kerala:</strong> A red alert has been issued in districts such as Malappuram, Kannur, and Kasaragod. Heavy rains have caused waterlogging and traffic disruptions in many areas.</p>



<p><strong>Karnataka:</strong> Red alerts are in place in Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, Uttara Kannada, Shivamogga, Kodagu, and Chikkamagaluru, with schools and colleges closed.</p>



<p><strong>Chhattisgarh:</strong> Heavy rain and the threat of floods loom over 19 districts, including Korea, Surajpur, Balrampur, Jashpur, and Korba.</p>

<p><strong>Delhi-NCR:</strong> Waterlogging and traffic jams are reported in Delhi, Noida, and Gurugram due to rainfall. The IMD has forecast heavy rain in the next few hours.</p>



<p><strong>Maharashtra:</strong> Heavy rainfall is warned for districts like Mumbai, Pune, Raigad, and Ratnagiri. Schools and colleges are closed in Mumbai due to a red alert, and local train services are affected.</p>



<p><strong>Uttar Pradesh:</strong> Heavy rain is expected in districts such as Saharanpur, Shamli, and Baraut. Schools from class 1 to 8 are closed in Noida.</p>



<p><strong>Tamil Nadu:</strong> Schools and colleges are closed in Chennai, Kanchipuram, and Tiruvallur due to heavy rainfall. The risk of dengue and viral infections has also increased.</p>



<p><strong>Haryana:</strong> Cloudy skies and light to moderate rain are expected, particularly in districts like Rohtak, Bhiwani, Hisar, Sonipat, and Gurugram, where an alert has been issued for heavy rain and strong winds (30-40 km/h).</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Schools and Colleges Closed</h2>



<p>The situation remains critical in Nagpur, Maharashtra, due to torrential rain. Heavy rainfall has led to waterlogging and flood-like conditions on the roads. The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for Nagpur, following which the district administration has announced a holiday for all schools, colleges, and Anganwadi centres on Wednesday, 9 July. District Collector Dr. Vipin Itankar took this decision, prioritising the safety of students. Nagpur has previously experienced flood-like situations due to heavy rainfall, resulting in casualties.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Administration and Relief Efforts</h2>



<p>District administrations have deployed NDRF and SDRF teams in flood-affected areas. Relief and rescue operations are underway in Nagpur, Bilaspur, and other affected areas. People have been advised to avoid going near rivers and drains and to stay indoors. The Meteorological Department has warned that heavy rainfall is likely to continue for the next 24-48 hours. People are urged to remain vigilant and follow the instructions of the local administration.</p>

<p><strong>Bharat Bandh Today:</strong> A nationwide strike, Bharat Bandh, is being observed on Wednesday, 9 July 2025. <p>A heavy police presence was deployed near the Jadavpur 8B bus stand in Kolkata. <p>A woman from India, Monika Kapoor, who fled the country 25 years ago to avoid prosecution in a financial fraud case, has been arrested in the United States of America. She had been a fugitive for a considerable period but has now been apprehended by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) of India.</p>

<p>The CBI has initiated Monika Kapoor&#8217;s repatriation to India and has already departed from the US with her. The American Airlines flight carrying her is expected to land in India late Wednesday night or early Thursday morning.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Details of the Case</h2>



<p>Monika Kapoor is accused of fraud in a duty-free gold import-export business worth ₹2.36 crore. She fled to the USA in 1999, where she allegedly collaborated with her two brothers to create forged documents for their jewellery business. These documents were reportedly used to obtain licenses for importing duty-free raw materials from the Indian government. The fraud was uncovered in 2002, and a case was filed against Monika Kapoor in 2006, but she evaded prosecution until her recent arrest. She is now being brought back to India to face legal proceedings.</p>

<p><strong>Dumana Airport Bomb Threat:</strong> A sensational case of a bomb threat against Dumna Airport in Jabalpur (Madhya Pradesh) has emerged. This is the second such threat in eight days, following similar threats to Indore and Bhopal airports. The airport authority received an email containing the threat, causing panic among airport administration and security agencies. An FIR has been filed with the Khamaria police station. The investigation is underway.</p>



<p>The email, sent from an ID named Imam Hussain Ali, listed 10 passengers allegedly carrying RDX. The email stated: ‘Four RDX 800 base fuses have been deliberately doped in small quantities to reduce the impact and avoid casualties.’ Following the threat, Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS), police, and CISF teams conducted a thorough search of the airport premises.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Police Investigation Underway</h2>



<p>Despite a thorough search, no suspicious objects or explosives were found. Khamaria police station has registered a case against an unknown accused and launched an investigation. The police and cyber cell are investigating the source and motive behind the threatening email. This incident is considered part of a recent series of hoax bomb threats targeting various airports across the country.</p>

<p>Land belonging to farmers will be acquired to widen the road from Natni Ka Bara to Alwar. The PWD NH will acquire approximately 43 hectares of land affecting around 3,000 farmers. The administration will provide compensation. Preparations are underway to announce the award within a week, after which the road work will proceed. An elevated road is proposed in Sariska.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Compensation of approximately ₹70 crore</h2>



<p>To connect that road, widening of approximately 14 kilometres of road from Natni Ka Bara to Alwar is necessary. After widening, this road will become a two-lane road. This will increase the speed of vehicles and reduce the distance between Alwar and Jaipur. The PWD NH requires land for widening. In this case, land belonging to nearby farmers will be acquired. This involves 500 khesras (land records) and the land of approximately 3,000 farmers. Compensation will be provided for 43 hectares of land. It is reported that approximately ₹70 crore will be given to the farmers as compensation.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">First phase survey complete</h2>



<p>PWD NH will construct a flyover in Kati Ghati. A Delhi-based agency is conducting the survey. The first phase of the survey has been completed. Now, in the second phase, the flyover route will be decided. This work is to be completed in three months. After that, it will go to the central government for approval, and then tenders will be invited for the construction of the flyover.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">₹88 crore to be spent on road widening</h2>



<p>₹88 crore will be spent on road widening. The work is not fully underway yet. After the award is announced, the department will focus on construction. A department engineer says that the administration is going to announce the award soon. After that, land acquisition will take place. Before that, farmers will also receive compensation.</p>

<p>Asia&#8217;s oldest elephant, Vatsala passed away on Tuesday at Panna Tiger Reserve. She had been unwell for quite some time and died around 1:30 pm. In the park, she played a crucial role in caring for the calves of other elephants, earning her the affectionate title of &#8220;Dadi&#8221; (grandmother). The Tiger Reserve management had attempted to get Vatsala recognised as the world&#8217;s oldest elephant in the Guinness Book of World Records, but lacked the necessary documentary evidence. Currently, the record is held by Lin Wang, an elephant from a zoo in Taiwan, who died at the age of 86.</p>



<p>The park management expressed grief over the death of its oldest elephant and conducted a proper funeral ceremony for her.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Vatsala brought to Madhya Pradesh from Kerala</h2>



<p>According to wildlife experts, the average lifespan of elephants is 50 to 70 years. By the age of 70, elephants typically lose their tusks. Vatsala had been without tusks since 2000. Born in the Nilambur Forest of Kerala, Vatsala was brought to the Borai Sanctuary in Hoshangabad in 1972, at an estimated age of 50 years.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Loss of vision due to cataracts</h2>



<p>Wildlife expert Dr Sanjeev Kumar Gupta explains that due to old age, Vatsala developed cataracts in both eyes in February 2020, impairing her vision. Her caretakers would guide her through the jungle by holding her trunk or ears. She was unable to walk long distances without assistance. Even the younger elephants in the herd would help her while walking. Vatsala was known for her calm and sensitive nature.</p>

<p><strong>Bharat Bandh 2025:</strong> In protest against the central government’s “anti-worker, anti-farmer and pro-corporate policies”, a nationwide Bharat Bandh is being held today, Wednesday (9 July). Called by a joint platform of 10 central trade unions, the strike has seen participation from nearly 25 crore workers and rural labourers across sectors, including banking, transport, postal services, coal mining, construction, and electricity. The strike is also supported by the Samyukt Kisan Morcha, agricultural labour unions and other regional organisations.</p>

<p>Stacks of currency notes were found inside a government residence that had been locked for 11 years. The residence was allocated to an ACMO (Additional Chief Medical Officer) who died approximately 11 years ago. All the notes were old ₹500 and ₹1000 denominations.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Residence Allotted to Additional Chief Medical Officer</h2>



<p>This government residence is located in the Miranpur CHC complex. It was allocated to ACMO Dr. B.N. Tiwari. Dr Tiwari was appointed in Ambedkarnagar on 28 August 2007. He died under suspicious circumstances on 29 January 2014. His body was found on his bed in his room, following which the administration sealed the residence. Neither his family came forward nor did the department deem it necessary to reopen the room.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">House remained closed for a decade</h2>



<p>The room remained locked for almost a decade. During this time, more than half a dozen CMOs came and went in the district, but no one paid attention to this residence. However, when the new CMO, Dr. Sanjay Kumar Shaival (डॉ. संजय कुमार शैवाल), decided to have the building repaired, the matter came to light again.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">₹22.5 Lakh Found Hidden Under Bed and in Cupboard</h2>



<p>With permission from the District Magistrate, a team was formed, and with videography, the room&#8217;s lock was broken. Upon opening the door, the officials were stunned by the sight inside the room. Old ₹500 and ₹1000 notes, hidden under the bed and in the cupboard, were recovered. The total amount was ₹22,48,000. Since these notes became invalid after the 2016 demonetisation, they have been deposited in the treasury.</p>


<p>A shocking incident has come to light from Ambedkarnagar district. The matter has stunned both the administration and the general public. A large amount of cash has been found in a government residence that has been locked for approximately 11 years, causing a sensation.</p>

Bihar Police Constable Admit Cards Out Post-Midnight Tonight


<p>The written examination for the recruitment of 19,838 constables in the Bihar Police will be held in six phases, starting from 16 July 2025 and ending on 3 August 2025. Admit cards for candidates appearing in this examination will be released online from 12 midnight on 9 July. Candidates can download their e-admit cards from the website <a href="csbc.bihar.gov.in">csbc.bihar.gov.in</a> using their registration ID, mobile number, or date of birth. However, today only admit cards for candidates appearing on 16 July will be released.</p>

<p>The examination centre details will be clearly mentioned on the admit card. A total of 627 examination centres have been set up across 38 districts of the state. Approximately 2.5 to 3 lakh candidates are expected to appear in each phase of the examination.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">CSBC Bihar Police Constable Admit Card: Duplicate Admit Card Facility</h2>



<p>If a candidate is unable to download the admit card online for any reason, they can obtain a duplicate e-admit card from the Central Selection Board (Constable Recruitment) office, Bailey Road, near Secretariat Halt, Patna on the dates mentioned below.</p>

DSSSB 2025: Applications Open for More Than 2000+ Jail Warder, PGT Posts in Delhi


<p><strong>DSSSB Vacancy 2025:</strong> A great opportunity has arisen for young people seeking employment. The Delhi Subordinate Services Selection Board (DSSSB) has commenced the recruitment process for a total of 2119 positions across various departments. These include prominent roles such as Jail Warder and PGT Teacher. Interested and eligible candidates can apply online from 8 July 2025 to 7 August 2025.
