
<p><strong>Rajasthan News:</strong> The Department of Social Justice and Empowerment has begun preparations to stop the pensions of lakhs of beneficiaries (single women, elderly, and differently-abled). A proposal has been sent to the Chief Minister&#8217;s Office. If approved, the pensions of lakhs of people could be stopped. The proposal suggests that if a beneficiary pays ₹48,000 or more annually on electricity bills, their pension should be stopped. The Chief Minister has also been consulted regarding beneficiaries with annual electricity bills of ₹24,000 or more. A government survey report indicates that the annual income of lakhs of pension recipients exceeds the prescribed limit.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">91.85 Lakh Beneficiaries Receiving Pensions</h2>



<p>The government currently provides pensions ranging from ₹1150 to ₹1500 per month under the Mukhyamantri Vridhjan Samman Pension Yojana, Mukhyamantri Ekal Nari Samman Pension Yojana, and Mukhyamantri Vishisht Yogyajan Samman Pension Yojana. The total number of beneficiaries receiving these pensions is 91.85 lakh.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">No Decision Yet</h2>



<p>Social security pensions are for the poor. We are considering beneficiaries with annual electricity bills of ₹24,000 or more. The proposal has been sent to the CMO for consideration. <p><strong>Registration Rule in US:</strong> The Trump administration has issued another decree that increases difficulties for immigrants in the United States. According to this new rule from the Department of Homeland Security, registration is now mandatory for foreign nationals staying in the US for more than 30 days. As per the new rule, foreigners arriving in the US after April 11th must register within 30 days, providing fingerprints. Failure to comply will result in fines, arrest, and potential deportation.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Indians are the Second Largest Group of Visitors to the US</h2>



<p>Parents keeping their children in the country for more than 30 days will also be required to register them. This has increased anxiety within the immigrant community in the US. It is noteworthy that there is a large Indian population in the US. India is the second largest foreign market for tourism in the US, meaning Indians constitute the second largest group of tourists visiting the country. This rule will therefore pose a significant problem for Indians.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Court Approves the Rule</h2>



<p>A US federal judge has approved the registration rule for foreigners. On April 10th, Judge Trevor McFadden dismissed a petition seeking to block the rule, stating there was insufficient legal basis for a stay. This decision, coming a day before the rule&#8217;s implementation, cleared the way for its enforcement. It is worth noting that this rule is based on a law from the time of World War II.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Identity Documents Must Be Carried at All Times</h2>



<p>Those possessing documents such as H-1B visas, student visas, and green cards will be considered pre-registered. However, they must carry their documents at all times and report any address changes within 10 days. Failure to do so will result in fines. In 2023, the US issued the most non-immigrant visas to the top 5 countries.</p>

Fraud in Rajasthan over hotel bookings! FIR against OYO founder Ritesh Agarwal for cheating over ₹22 crore


<p><strong>Jaipur: </strong>Hotel operators in Jaipur have accused Oyo Rooms, an online hotel booking company, of making fraudulent bookings at their hotels. By creating these fake bookings, Oyo inflated its earnings, but this has resulted in hotels facing tax recovery, penalties, and interest charges amounting to crores of rupees from the GST department.</p>



<p>They are running from pillar to post dealing with the department. One hotel has filed an FIR against Oyo company director Ritesh Agarwal at Adarshnagar police station. Hussain Khan, President of the Hotel Federation of Rajasthan, described this unusual case as a growing problem for the hotel industry. Meanwhile, Sandeep Gogia, the convenor, stated that 100 hotels have received GST notices.</p>



<p>In Jodhpur too, in the last six months, more than 10 hotel operators have received notices from SGST and CGST. It was revealed that large-scale fraud occurred in the name of booking and then cancelling hotel rooms. One hotel even received a notice for approximately ₹1 crore. Hotels are booked online and then immediately cancelled. A GST charge is levied for this, which the hotel operators have to bear.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Hotel Didn&#8217;t Exist in 2016, Yet Bookings Shown</h2>

<p>Madan Jain, director of Samskara Resort, stated that Oyo showed bookings totalling ₹22.51 crore at their resort. Because of this, the GST department has demanded payment of ₹2.66 crore. Notably, Oyo showed bookings at Samskara even in 2016, when the hotel did not even exist.</p>

Fake Doctors Being Trained in Madhya Pradesh


<p><strong>Fake doctors in Madhya Pradesh</strong>: A string of sensational revelations has emerged in the state, exposing widespread fraud in the medical field. Following the discovery of a fake doctor at Damoh&#8217;s Mission Hospital, the Child Commission team raided an institution in Sagar that was churning out fake doctors by issuing bogus certificates. Unemployed youths from rural areas were enticed with promises of opening their own clinics, only to be cheated out of large sums of money in exchange for these fraudulent documents.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Major revelation in Child Commission complaint</h2>



<p>This was revealed through a complaint received by the Child Commission. Some people alleged in their complaint that fake doctors were being produced at Radha Raman Institute, operating in the LIC building at Kalicharan Chauraha, under the guise of skill development. The commission, acting swiftly on the matter, conducted a joint raid with the district administration on Friday. Several records of youths who had been issued fake certificates were recovered from the centre.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Racket of training fake doctors busted</h2>



<p><strong>Radha Raman</strong> Institute, started 10 years ago under the name of PM Kaushal Vikas Kendra, shut down after two years. Afterward, it began operating as a centre for training fake doctors. Preliminary investigations have found no affiliation with any university. The operator, Sunil Nema, a resident of Moti Nagar police station area, used a call centre to contact unemployed youths and lure them into the scheme. During the investigation, 12 young women working at the call centre were found. The operator, Sunil Nema, did not appear despite being informed.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>How they trapped the youth</strong></h2>



<p>● Unemployed youths from rural areas were contacted via call centre and lured with the promise of becoming doctors.</p>



<p>● <strong>The cost of one certificate ranged from ₹32,000 to ₹45,000, which also included paramedical courses and clinic operation training.</strong></p>



<p>● The target was youth who had passed 10th or 12th standard and aspired to become doctors. They were lured and large sums of money were extorted from them.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Alcohol bottles and a money-counting machine found at the institute</h2>



<p>Alcohol bottles and a money-counting machine were found at the institute. Hundreds of fake certificates have been distributed from here over 8-10 years. These fake doctors may be practicing in villages. Instructions have been given to the Collector for action.</p>

<p><strong>Electricity Prices to Rise in Rajasthan:</strong> Rajasthan&#8217;s electricity consumers are bracing for higher bills. Power companies have filed tariff petitions with the State Electricity Regulatory Commission (SERC), citing increased costs and losses. They propose raising the minimum electricity consumption charge to ₹6 per unit, up from the current ₹4.75 per unit. This will affect all consumer categories. A new ₹1 per unit regulatory surcharge will also be imposed on all consumers, enabling power companies to recover approximately ₹53,000 crore in regulatory assets. This will include adjustments for the base fuel surcharge, with only the outstanding amount being collected, citing central government directives.</p>



<p>Furthermore, in addition to industries, domestic and commercial consumers with loads exceeding 10 kW (excluding agriculture) and equipped with smart meters will now be included in the Time-of-Day (TOD) tariff. Three separate surcharge and rebate categories have been created for these consumers.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Power Companies Propose Reduced Energy Charges for Domestic Consumers</h2>



<p>However, power companies have proposed lower energy charges for most domestic consumers. They claim that the proposed increase in fixed charges and other surcharges will have a minimal impact. The commission has invited objections and suggestions from the public. A decision on the petition will be made after public hearings.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Setback for Industries: Loss of ₹1 per Unit Discount</h2>



<p>Large industrial units with load factors exceeding 50% currently receive a ₹1 per unit discount on energy charges. This rebate is proposed to be eliminated. However, in general cases, the energy charge will be reduced from ₹7.30 to ₹6.50.</p>



<p>New industries currently receive discounts ranging from ₹0.55 to ₹0.85 per unit, applicable to both medium and large industries. This discount is proposed to be reduced to ₹0.20 and ₹0.30 per unit respectively.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Claims by Power Companies…</h2>



<p><strong>1-</strong> Proposal to reduce electricity charges across all categories for the first time.</p>



<p><strong>2-</strong> The state has approximately 1.35 crore domestic consumers, with 1.04 crore receiving government subsidies.</p>



<p><strong>3-</strong> The merger of domestic slabs affects approximately 17 lakh BPL (Below Poverty Line) and Aastha cardholders. Since the government already provides subsidies on the merged slabs, their bills will remain unaffected.</p>



<p><strong>4-</strong> Electricity tariff rates have been unified for small, medium, and large industrial categories. Multiple energy charges in the industrial category have been replaced with a single rate.</p>



<p><strong>5-</strong> Proposed reduction in electricity charges for agricultural consumers from ₹5.55 per unit to ₹5.25 per unit.<br>(Discoms presented their case late at night through media briefings highlighting certain points of the tariff petition.)</p>

A 10% surcharge will apply to electricity consumption during the six peak hours (morning and evening), while a 10% discount will be offered during the four off-peak hours. The rationale is to reduce peak-hour electricity consumption by commercial and industrial units, ensuring uninterrupted power supply to other consumers during these times.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Slab Reduction…Decreased Electricity Charges, Increased Fixed Charges</h2>



<p><strong>1-</strong> Consolidation of three separate slabs (50-150 units) into a single slab with a proposed rate of ₹6 per unit. However, the fixed charge is proposed to be reduced from a maximum of ₹250 to ₹150 per month.<br><strong>2-</strong> In the 150-300 unit slab, the tariff will be reduced from ₹7.35 to ₹7 per unit.<br><strong>3-</strong> The third category will have only two slabs instead of four: ₹6 per unit for up to 150 units and ₹7 per unit for 150-500 units. The fixed charge in this category is proposed to be increased from ₹400 to ₹500 per month.<br><strong>4-</strong> In the fourth category (consumption exceeding 500 units), the rates will be ₹6 per unit for up to 150 units, ₹7 per unit for 150-500 units, and ₹7.50 per unit for consumption exceeding 500 units. The fixed charge is proposed to be increased from ₹450 to ₹800 per month.<br><strong>5-</strong> Separate proposals exist for commercial and industrial tariffs.</p>

<p>Tanushka originally hails from Uttar Pradesh, but spent her childhood in Mangaluru, where she also received her education. She is the third generation of her family to join the armed forces. Her father, Lieutenant Colonel Ajay Pratap Singh, was an officer in the Indian Army, and her grandfather, Captain Devendra Bahadur Singh, also served in the army.</p>

Amarnath Yatra 2025: New Guidelines Issued


<p>Amarnath Yatra 2025: The sacred Amarnath Yatra will commence on 3 July and conclude on 9 August. This year, the pilgrimage will span 38 days. According to guidelines released by the Amarnath Shrine Board, in addition to individual pilgrims, groups of up to 30 pilgrims can register together. Group registrations will be available on a first-come, first-served basis from 14 April to 31 May. Groups of five or more pilgrims can register together. Over 50 groups from Gwalior alone participate in the Amarnath Yatra every year.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Eligibility Requirements</h2>



<p>One member of the group can register the other members as the group leader. A medical certificate is mandatory for registration. A registration fee of ₹250 will be charged per pilgrim. Individuals under 13 years of age, over 70 years of age, and pregnant women over six months will not be eligible for group registration. Applications for group registration will be accepted via post at: Chief Executive Officer, Amarnath Shrine Board, 2nd Floor, Block 3, Engineering Complex, Rajbagh Srinagar. Application forms must be sent via post by 20 May for group registration.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Fee Structure</h2>



<p>A postal fee of ₹50 will be charged for groups of 1-5 members. Similarly, ₹100 for 6-10 members, ₹150 for 11-15 members, ₹200 for 16-20 members, ₹250 for 21-25 members, and ₹300 for 26-30 members.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">With Groups Departing Annually</h2>



<p>Dr. Sanjay Pandey, convenor of the Bam-Bam Bhole Seva Dal, stated that this will be their 25th Amarnath Yatra. Last year, 428 pilgrims travelled with their group to see Baba Barfani. This year, they have already received 550 forms and expect around 600 pilgrims to participate. Mahendra Bhadkariya and Bharat Dhingra, patrons of the Baba Barfani Har Har Mahadev Committee, stated that they have been taking groups to see Baba Barfani for nearly 20 years. This year, approximately 80 people will depart from Gwalior on 30 June.</p>

Fake currency has been circulating in the Anandpuri area, and police have made a significant breakthrough in the case. So far, police have busted an inter-state gang, seized ₹3,76,300 in counterfeit notes, and arrested 11 accused. However, approximately ₹4 lakh worth of fake notes are still in circulation.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Laptops, Printers, and Other Equipment Recovered</h2>



<p>Police recovered laptops, printers, and other equipment from the accused. Investigations revealed that the accused learned how to print counterfeit notes from YouTube and used the gang to circulate them. The fake notes have already entered the market and were used in transactions ranging from small purchases to weddings and other events. The entire gang was actively involved in circulating the counterfeit currency.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Main Accused Still at Large</h2>



<p>According to the police investigation, approximately ₹8 lakh worth of counterfeit notes were printed. It is estimated that over ₹4 lakh in fake notes are still in circulation. The main accused remains at large, and the police are not ruling out the possibility of even more counterfeit notes being in circulation.</p>

<p>The accused were sophisticated enough to print fake ₹100, ₹200, and ₹500 notes. This demonstrates their skill in producing counterfeit currency of all three denominations.</p>

<p>Rural areas have been easy targets for circulating fake notes due to lower levels of education and awareness.</p>

<p>A female athlete in Varanasi was gang-raped by seven boys, including her friend and his friends, in a moving car. The incident occurred on April 2nd in the Lalpur Pandapur police station area. After leaving the hookah bar, her boyfriend took her to his friend&#8217;s car. They sat in the back seat. They then went to the Kacheri area, where the boyfriend got another friend to join them in the car. They then proceeded to Hukulganj Road, where the boyfriend picked up yet another friend.</p>



<p>The car then started moving towards Ring Road. During this time, the girl&#8217;s boyfriend and his three friends raped her. Later, the boyfriend called three more friends, who joined them on Ring Road. There were two men in the front and five in the back. The car then sped from Ring Road towards Lalpur. After the athlete&#8217;s condition worsened, the accused threw her out of the moving car a short distance from her home and escaped. The athlete then somehow managed to reach her home.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Six Accused in Custody, Search for One Continues</h2>



<p>The athlete&#8217;s family stated that they took her to the hospital on April 2nd, where she is still undergoing treatment. On Sunday, her father filed a complaint at the police station. The police registered a case and arrested six of the accused. A search is underway for the remaining accused. A police team visited the hookah bar in Sigra and conducted an investigation. Police Commissioner Mohit Agrawal instructed the Sigra Station House Officer to take effective action against the hookah bar and any hotels mentioned by the victim.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Chandrakant Meena, DCP Varuna Zone</h2>



<p>DCP Varuna Zone, Chandrakant Meena, stated that a case has been registered based on the complaint, and six youths have been taken into custody. Interrogation is underway. CCTV footage from the alleged hookah bar and related hotels is being used to identify other individuals involved. The DCP mentioned that no accusations were made on the day the victim was found; a complaint was filed the following day. The police are investigating this sensitive case.</p>

<p>The Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) is now leveraging cutting-edge technology to make its competitive examinations more transparent and fair. The commission has decided to implement an Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based surveillance system at examination centres to completely prevent cheating and other unfair activities. Under this new system, high-tech cameras will be installed, which will not only record but also analyse the activities of the candidates with the help of AI. Any suspicious activity, such as repeatedly looking around, whispering, gesturing, or being absent from the seat for longer than the stipulated time, will be directly reported to the control room.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Positive results emerging</h2>



<p>Initially, this technology was tested at a few examination centres and exams, where positive results emerged. Now, the commission is going to implement it fully in all upcoming examinations. The biggest upcoming event will be the preliminary examination of RO-ARO 2023, where this technology will be fully operational. With the help of this technology, suspicious activities of candidates can be directly monitored in the control room of that centre.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">UPPSC: Agency appointed for operation and monitoring</h2>



<p>A special technical agency has been appointed for the operation and monitoring of this system, which will not only carry out real-time monitoring but will also prepare reports on suspicious activities based on detailed data analysis. A record of events will be kept with information up to each examination centre, room, seat and roll number.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Artificial Intelligence: Cannot spend excessive time even in the toilet</h2>



<p>Moreover, if a candidate goes to the toilet and takes more time than the time limit to return, the system will send an alert. Thus, every activity inside and outside the examination will be closely monitored. Any suspicious activity will be signaled not to the examination hall but to the control room. This step by the commission will not only pose a challenge to those who take the examination through unfair means but will also be an assurance for those students who prepare with hard work and honesty. According to the commission, this technological initiative will increase confidence in the examination system and ensure fairness.</p>


<p>UPPSC: Not only that, but if a candidate goes to the restroom and takes longer than the allotted time, the system will send an alert. This system monitors activity both inside and outside the examination hall.</p>
